3 solid wins from GGG, Gonzalez, Jacobs
2 good wins from Canelo, Thurman
1 great win from Fury

I go with Fury for the sheer historical magnitude of that one win.
It was a huge win and great karaoke performance but let's call it what it was, a debacle of a fight to watch. It was a shame to raise either of their hands at the end. GREAT win, don't get me wrong. Historically, it will look super in the history books but Fury's lucky enough to be able to call himself the Heavyweight Champion of the World, he's got enough hardware for that mess.
Entertainment value is not what I take into consideration. Especially someone else's :) . Only the level of the achievements. Dethroning Klitschko is a true sporting achievement. Think about the enormous commitment and skill it take to pull that off. Nothing happens in boxing this year that could compare to that IMO.

As for Canelo allegedly winning middle weight title, that never happened. you cant win middleweight championship of the world fighting under super welterweight limit, plus few grams. :shame:

BOXer of the year has to go to the man who made history, no other fighter has did what he has this year, going undefeated an entire career and topping off his year making history.

The man, they Legend; Floyd "Money" Mayweather.

Tyson Fury beat an old Klitschko, yes it was a good and boring victory (due to Klits) but winning the HW Championship pales in comparison to a man tying the record of the legendary Rocky Marciano.

No it isn't, he beat an over-the-hill huggaboxer who does nothing but swing one time and then leans on his opponent. I guess it take a lot to beat a guy like that, huh?

Golovkin's best win is against a smaller man and a nobody in Monroe. so no way in hell he qualifies for boxer of the year, I'd take Fury's win over him.

Floyd made History, a history that hasn't been tied or broken in what, 60 years or so??

And y'all still say Fury, lol. I've never seen in any other sport on the planet where one man makes history and another man just wins one title/championship that that one team, one man, one victory overshadows a history making performance, I give you the so called "fans" of boxing on BoxRec, lol

So Floyd doesn't hug? He's got away with holding just as much as Wlad and Fury. You are a hypocrite.

You don't get Fighter of the year for what you did in the past.

1.Activity: He was one of the most active world champions fighting 3 times in 2015 (Canelo, Floyd and Fury fought twice). So being more active gives him an edge in this category

2.Domination: He dominated all 3 of his opponents with ease, displaying great boxing skills and punching power (Yet again)

3.Knockouts: He knocked out all of his 3 opponents, battered them in every single round, who else did that this year? (Kovalev? He fought just twice only credible win this year = Pascal)

4.Opponents: Non of them were Elite but all of them Were among TOP5 (Murray,Lemieux) and Top15 (Monroe) So not elite opponents but GOOD enough for this year (Because nobody else stood out like last year, Crawford-Kovalev)

Close 2nd is Floyd Mayweather for defeating Manny Pacquiao.

The only boxer I ever knew that hugged more than Klits was John Ruiz, wth you mean "the past"? Floyd won two fights this year and one of them made him a Legend and tied a 60 year old record.

If this was done by Fury or GGG y'all would be here with either man's pants down with your heads between their knees but because it's Floyd and I get it that y'all hate him y'all refuse to admit it and diminish the historic significance of what he did.

In baseball a milestone is celebrated, in football a milestone is praised but in boxing as long as it's Mayweather doing it then it is somehow minimalized.

Amazing that some of you have the audacity and nerve to claim that you are a "Boxing Fan" when the mere fact is you are only a fan of certain boxers and not others regardless of how much they've accomplished.

If Fury or GGG had equaled this milestone I'd be here giving either of them credit where it is due. Y'all aren't real boxing fans IMHO.

LOL. I completely forgot Floyd fought Manny this year. Tells you how much I think of that fight. That being said, this does put Floyd in the running, as I was only counting Berto before.

Floyd one win over the late, great Manny Pacquiao is far better than the 2 wins over nobodies and 1 win over a smaller man by GGG and the 1 win by Fury over an old huggable Klit.

It's just completely sad to me that anyone could sit here and claim they're a fan of the sport and not give props regardless of how much you dislike Floyd.

Too much personal bias, emotion and hate to see clearly I guess.

Although I'm not the fan of Floyd I once was, his dominant win over Pac gives him the nod in FOY. The fight may have been boring but had great historical significance. It also outweighs his pathetic choice of a no-hoper like Berto for his farewell fight.
FMJ v Pac was a farce. FMJ v Berto was a walkover.

Fury is the fighter of the year 2015.

Actually the Klit vs Povetkin fight made John Ruiz's worst fight look like an action packed brawl.
Klit hugged more than Ruiz.Sorry but it is true

Wow someone is apparently short on reading comprehension!! Did i say that GGG was a nobody or did I say this in reference to his wins over the people he fought??

two virtual nobodies at MW and one who wasn't even a real MW, lol I suggest you take some lessons or by Hooked on Phonics or maybe the new book that came out "Reading Comprehension for Dummies" lol.

So Fury beats a guy who's over 40 that hugs him to death while Floyd easily beats the Great Manny Pacquiao that you guys said would not only beat Floyd but also KO him and he's wins tying a 60 year old record and you still hang your hat on Fury.

lol, you guys are a real joke, it really hurts you so called "boxing fans" to admit the truth.

I think Mayweather gets it.. made a hall of famer look silly then cruises by a 2x world champion. The Fury win over Klitchko was significant but I don't think it outweighs what Floyd did over the whole year.

Based on a solid criteria of number of times fought against quality opposition and winning all fights by KO , you have to give it to Gennady Golovkin .

It's not even close .
