Here we go. Another filthy Brit who calls a bunch of idiots running around in short shorts diving around on the ground holding their knee Football Players. It's Soccer dude...Football is played by MEN and don't get handed purple or pink cards for doing something bad or whatever you idiots do.
american football is among the most boring
things on the planet. one appeal of football
(the real one) is that there is more flow of
action instead of this stop and go thing. in
american football most of the play time is
actually stand still and when something is
happening it is kind of choreographed. unlike
football (again, the real one), where emphasis
is much more on improvisation and creativity
than running a pattern.

to the european eye american football is just
a stupid orgy of contained violence. but hey,
do you guys care? your sports can even have
"world series" with only you participating.

"Orgy of contained violence." You make it sound like a bad thing.

American football sells in Europe or Japan when they have games there. I like American football 3rd to boxing and MMA. While I am not a fan of European football, I have a great deal of respect for the athleticism. Many middle class American kids like myself played "soccer" in grade and high school. Great sport, just can't say I follow it.

I agree the NFL won't be able to pick up a lot of new fans, but the marketing is at least successful, and not all marketing is successful. Ask Jeb Bush.

I was actually giving Europeans a compliment in that they are far more open to what happens here, then Americans are to what happens overseas. We are by the numbers are very chauvinistic group.
