ok so since 2010 we had 10 CHAMPIONS that ducked Gennady tripleG Golovkin, I think something like this has never ever happened in the span of 5 years, its just sad. The amount of fear he produces is unreal. If I forgot ANY other champions that ducked him feel free to add them.
If they gave an Academy Award for posters, this OP here would win for best performance. This really does show the cause and effect of GGG's resume. GGG's resume is the only thing that these Floyd sympathizers and GGG detractors could use to help their case but this post shows how flimsy their arguments really are. This list of avoidance places the focus where it should be in regards to the matter and that is not on the avoided boxer but the people that are so scared to fight him that they would rather vacate a world title than fight him.
In my book, you get points for being feared and avoided like no one else in history. Not knocked for it. AND, this is a nice list of avoidance but we all know that this is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the total number of boxers that have ducked GGG or declined a chance to fight him. We know Floyd couldn't retire fast enough after hearing GGG call him out and say he would suck down to meet him at his weight but i'm sure it's just a coincidence, must be.
I can't wait to see the final list of ducking champions. Greatest OP ever.

But it isn't.
This post should have been made with multiple links to documentation supporting what is said.
It isn't.
And the rebuttals to it done by Horse and Expe not only sound much more plausible,
but are much more readily verified by independent searches.
Again, this thread wont really begin to be a discussion until the OP can actually
document some of what he is trying to pass off as fact.

Thats why I said defend it. Alternatively he could have fought GGG after Mundine to get back his title. But of course no, he went for an "easier" champion. We know what happened there.expe wrote:Geale's titles were though, without a world title he wouldn't have made as much as he did fighting Mundine.Tarkus wrote:He could have fought Mundine after defending his title. Re: List Of Champions that DUCKED GGG - Response to Horse
It's not a duck if you fight someone else and make the same or more money- they are called prizefighters folks.
It's not a duck if you never fight the guy on a rival network that has banned you from fighting on it...
unless you engineer a purse bid then balk on the very thing you set up in the first place.
It is not a duck if you call someone out, they say "fine let's do this", but you sign to fight someone else.
Nowhere in the OP or anywhere else in the thread is lil g's habit of
signing for his next fight a week or so after his last ever mentioned.
This is important since some of the big fights that have been allegedly avoided
are fights that would take months of negotiation to make.
You can't say a guy is ducking you if you don't even enter into negotiations
or don't even allow time for negotiations to be made.

Most definitely. Not turning up for a match is comparable to loosing. It is so in every sport in the world. In boxing though you have to cherrypick your opponents, its considered smart.caldo2025 wrote: In my book, you get points for being feared and avoided like no one else in history. Not knocked for it. What about Carl Froch? He was a champion and Golovkin was chasing him like mad for at least a year.

Yeah, the guy who was about 35 and close to retirement and in the middle of a legacy-type rivalry when golovkin came to real prominence, who'd fought everyone at the top level for about 6 years at a weight above golovkin, who then retired and stayed retired, he's a ducker.
Froch was a ducker.

Re: List Of Champions that DUCKED GGG - Response to Horse
Why are you thinking that a person is the same in the beginning of career, in their prime and before retirement? Regular people are changing taking fewer risks and so do boxers.Counter-puncher wrote:Yeah, the guy who was about 35 and close to retirement and in the middle of a legacy-type rivalry when golovkin came to real prominence, who'd fought everyone at the top level for about 6 years at a weight above golovkin, who then retired and stayed retired, he's a ducker.

Yes, exactly. We can actually begin a new list for that as well. The List of Champion that retire and then call GGG out. We've got Floyd and Froch to start that list.Tarkus wrote:Most definitely. Sounds even more convincing. There is a Russian kids poem about a fool who stopped talking, and people started thinking that he was smart. Are we dealing with something similar ?Tanzio wrote:caldo2025 wrote:Nice contributions to the discussion, KC.Tanzio wrote:. . .

Add Sebastian Sbik to the mix.
Re: List Of Champions that DUCKED GGG - Response to Horse
Boxers that ducked/ducking GGG
1. Sturm --- wouldn't fight him for over 2 years when GGG was mandatory to him.
2. Quillin --- said he will only fight for the may-pac kind of money, lol + he flew to Haymon to avoid GGG
3. Martinez --- "His promoter said that "no way I am putting him with this monster", GGG kept calling him out after his U.S. debut after every fight
4. Cotto --- ducked his mandatory(GGG) twice by fighting Geale and Canelo
5. Chavez jr --- Turned down 12mil offer by TR
6. Canela --- Avoided his mando(GGG). Thinks that he is fighting at the weight-class of 155, as there is no such thing as a "155 weight-class" ,he is pretending to be not in the MW division because of GGG. There are 17 divisions just pick one, if you can't make 154 then you are a MW, simple. And then he dropped the belt when he had to fight GGG next, wow
7. Froch --- After calling GGG out then when GGG accepted ,he backed down and now he is retired after making all the fuss, + GGG was calling him for more than a year b4 he was retired so no excuses for "retiring". Carl said in a SkySports interview he will swerve GGG like the plague, he punches like a mule and there's no point getting in the ring with someone like him.
8. Ward --- The diva of the 168lb division don't want to travel or meet the a-side GGG in a catchweight so he can become a good boy and get ktfo. Was willing to goto 160 for Floyd but when GGG said 164, Ward ducked + he was fine when Dawson came down a whole division for him but wont move half a division for GGG, smh
9. Saunders --- Even before winning the WBO title from Lee his fear of Golovkin was as biright as day this is just one of many interviews(https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jJuwAz-ekoQ), then after winning it he priced himslef out at 6 mil$. Then turned down $3.2mill offer from k-2(its 2.2 gbp so I converted)
10. Eubank jr --- Very similar to Froch's duck of GGG, after calling GGG out he lost his pen when he had to sign
11. Jacobs - asked for a life changing money and then said that after 18 months, lol gtfoh. now called GGG out then when time came to sign, "crickets"
12. Njikam --- When Hassaan was WBO champ, he was ordered to a purse bid to face Golovkin no less than two times and he was a no show each time.
13. Barker --- When Barker defeated Geale to become IBF champ, his promoter openly said that Barker will fight any1 except GGG, Golovkin offered to Barker to fight him in England practically free, his only demand was for them to give Team Golovkin 10 FREE tickets, guess what? Barker ducked
14. Mundine --- Another blatant ducker.
15. Soliman --- Soliman won the IBF title in 2014 from Felix Sturm, immedietly after winning the title he called out GGG, then GGG fought his countryman Daniel Geale. Sam Soliman saw the fight and changed his mind stating he will NOT fight GGG after what he saw.
Still missing some.

Re: List Of Champions that DUCKED GGG - Response to Horse
lmao - I believe it was GGG begging to fight the 38 yr old Froch and 40 yr old Floyd. They might have said they could beat him, but didn't "call him out". Floyd mentioned he went up 5 weight classes in his career, and GGG didn't have the balls to even go up one to fight Ward. Its all talk anyway. I'm surprised Floyd didn't make the list for ducking GGG.caldo2025 wrote:Yes, exactly. We can actually begin a new list for that as well. The List of Champion that retire and then call GGG out. ...I don't compare GGG with Floyd and I'm not saying he's been perfectly managed but surely there is a tendency to avoid him and a difficulty to bring some boxers to the negotiating table..

Why compare to Floyd ??? Floyd was a huge draw and could fight anybody he wanted at any weight he wanted. Besides, he wasn't beating crap out of his opponents.greg wrote:...I don't compare GGG with Floyd and I'm not saying he's been perfectly managed but surely there is a tendency to avoid him and a difficulty to bring some boxers to the negotiating table..

The fact is IF GGG name gets mentioned as an opponent for most of the top guy's around today they price themselves out of the fight you'd think that he's not even holding A World Title belt let alone 2/3 more even the WBA regular champ or whet ever they call him Jacobs pricing himself out of the fight this is for one of the most sought after Title's [Middleweight] in boxing history the LEGEND'S that have held it are endless the last time I seen someone put the fear of god into the opposition like this was when a Young Iron Mike Tyson was at his terrorising best
I suppose you can't blame them for wanting TOP $.
Re: List Of Champions that DUCKED GGG - Response to Horse
It's easy to jump weight classes when you can put an IV in your arm with whatever you want and your opponents can't. How heroic. Only a fool doesn't see what Floyd's been up to with PEDs.
