Mickey Duff the "name" (R.I.P., my friend!) I'm looking for the few posts before. I was with him in Worcester, Massachusetts back when Julian Jackson won the 160lb. v. that "decent" FRENCH CHALLENGER.

Well Thank you, Tony (invite you to our small circle at The Jerry Quarry Foundation ~LETTERS~)\\\\Boxing it is always going to be a "SCARE" and bit "chancy". Thank you for bringing up Jerry Quarry, that's who I was thinking about. We all make our own decisions. Wish you the best.

^ ^ Sucracristo.... the conversation about the "money"/when I faught before it wasn't ever about the -money- and it wasn't too many of the match-up's I even know before what purse with be. I fought John Scully in my pro debut (his 003) and---YOU KNOW-- he has very "nice" résumé [media around Ne calling him a "modern day wonder"][Olympic trials bronze, '88 @165 and a 1-1 record vs Columbus, Ohio's world amateur champion at his weight, Darin Allen] but I never ask anything about $. I spend I estimate, $/ 20,000.00 to paste together my whole career pro & amateur (I swear I am: 147)(amateur 156 but I always easy can make 47 &.... I'm under 150 on the bathroom scale two days ago.....)
A little bit I'll weigh the $ now. So, it plays small part now. Depends.
Some people are going to remember me from past. Their are some good small fights I can go into well. I'm open to negotiate. I'm FRIENDSHIP with certain people within the Sport. It is known I am going to KEEP MY WORD. Exclusive email: [email protected]. JScully a good "reference" for me. He recently moved from Florida back to Connecticut and has taken over the Director position at the San Juan Boxing Center /Hartford.

Oh yeah! Jerry had career that was not in the least bit/ "tempered"! I WOULD NOT WANT to "give my life to Sport" in same degree he had. I am NOT worried about the "drama" of being HURT in a boxing Ring. (Though, I constantly am THANKING GOD, I never picked up the kind of HURT, that I have dished out! Though, you are CORRECT, one fight can RUIN A MAN. No doubt!
I'm out to WIN a few FIGHTS. The only "bums" I would care to Box would be (example) "bum Luis" whom I DID KNOW, personal ("before") [for a "minute"] & show me a "bad act". [HE SAY HE HAVE BOXING EXPERIENCE; "Talks about fighting me in the STREET!" : )]

Look at the Post I have up: Open talk; stress on boxing administration in modern. Note that Boxingya/ lefty has visited there and remarked. It is about my independent ADMINISTRATIVE WORK USING MY "Entity", the UNITED WBC WBA IBF WBO [UWBCAFO-I]. I work to ECHELON the SPORT. We open a "way" for the "potential" second echelon groups to be REGISTERED and to benefit the SPORT rather than to "TEAR US APART" in the EYES of the WORLD MEDIAS!
IBO operates on FRAUD LEVEL. "WHY?" The WBC WBA IBF WBO "allow" them to "co-exist" beside their is BEYOND ME TO UNDERSTAND & it is a sure sign that integrity of leadership has somehow been breached![Or "bleached" how ever you want to put it!]

Re: John Wilkinson Self promotion
I have in my 52 actual matches faced three (3) boxers who gain LIVE WORLD TITLE OPPORTUNITY; +.....have faced FOUR (4) who own a WIN or a DRAW Vs a EX or a FUTURE world champ. & OF COURSE YOU CAN GUESS, I COUNT ONLY THE FIRST &MAJOR FOUR [WBC WBA IBF WBO. "ALL POWER TO THE UWBCAFO-I"!]
The "live", champions were:
1) in 1990 GRosi I faced my Opp in '83 (win). IBF 154lb challenger rated '12'.
2) 1996. HMaske. Faced my Opp in '88. IBF 175 lb
challenger rated '4TH' at height.
3) '97. RJones -the "superstar" a.t.t. I faced my man in '88 & he is rated 1st by the WBC at his height, middleweight. This was a "step up" to lh and for "Unified".
The four Ex/ Pre:
1) (pre) Ray Mancini [I met my Opp in 1977 USAREUR 1/4 f.
2) (aft) Saoul Mamby [met my Opp in 1988
while I was living in/visiting Flint, MI.][was my 40th/ last amateur match, too!]
3) (aft) Matthew Hilton [this is same Opp as "live title"/first enter..]
4) (pre) MMoorer [met my Opp in the Ne Golden Gloves at Lowell 1/2 f., '86 & they "upset" MMoorer as the then #1 156lb-ER USA. Probably amateur boxing's upset of the year in USA that year..]

Tony, I was looking at some back posts and came across something you posted. You thought that MICKEY ROURKE IS --TOUGHER-- than CHUCK NORRIS! I thought that was kind of "Odd" idea!Tony1244 wrote:ImranSarwar wrote:^ ^ Tony1244, Tony..HOW DID YOU EVER THINK UP THAT NAME [ << me]

Wow, that was from a long time ago. I'd go with Rourke in a boxing match. Maybe I was being a little biased. Norris is either a love him or hate him kind of guy. They're both tough guys but more actors than ATG fighters or something. I think we agree on that.

Hi Tony! Yeah....Chuck Norris TOO MUCH. But...contained to a BOXING RING "different". You look in at TJQF yet? DON'T "mention" it there BUT....for a - - little while - - I was "thinking" that Jim I. there [EX COP; 1X ARRESTED Oliver McCall......] would be my FIRST "COMEBACK" FIGHT. It is PAGES AND PAGES DEEP. WE -O.K.- now....but..it was "heated" for a little while. [He....would IN NO WAY 'BOX ME'][I came with it.. "just cool"..]\\\all STARTED we had "argument" on the *manner in which he was ACCESSING PRIZEFIGHTER UNBEATEN HVYWT. CONTENDER, ANDY RUIZ JR. [Only "TWO (2) possible STREET HOOD BRAND -People-" been considered that how, everyone else of LONG LIST OF NAMES.....are real pro boxers..]man wrote:ahem. chuck norris was karate world champion.Tony1244 wrote:Wow, that was from a long time ago. I am YET NEEDING TO MAKE A COMEBACK. But..it gonna be something "SOMEHOW SMART"!$ wise & "contract".
Where do YOU live; what ever do YOU do? [you ever see the BoxRec "occupation" stream? I been there. See one guy..he is EX-COP!][Police are "Big Boys" in my book. I REALLY SHOULD BE P.O. my own self!]["started" my formal boxing with PAL!]
Booking agents do you KNOW, they take "standard 10%".

mickey rourke was a successful actor who
failed in boxing. chuck norris was a successful
fighter, who succeeded in acting. it is that simple.

One of my grade school teacher once said, "If we agree on everything, only one of us are necessary." That quote obviously stuck with me.
Re: John Wilkinson Self promotion
Mickey Rourke just had about a half dozen fights against non contenders. I wouldn't call that a failure, he just dabbled in it. They both are successful actors, albeit a different clientele.man wrote:mickey rourke was a successful actor who

I did go back and read that Norris won a couple tournaments. I forget at this point what the original thread was on. Perhaps one would win a fight if held now, and the other would win 30 years ago. Both successful actors with a tough guy shtick, that's the way i see it anyway.

Re: John Wilkinson Self promotion
Their really is no comparing Mickey Rourke to Chuck Norris as far as legend status. Myself I am more aware of Chuck Norris as a ACTOR. Man say he was a FIGHTER TURNED ACTOR. That's a fact?
Mickey Rourke TRUE only "dabled" with boxing. I am myself not a "Holywood follower" so I couldn't tell you what he has done at all but I am certain he doesn't measure up in status to ANY Chuck Norris.
What weight anyway does Mickey Rourke go into a RING AT? Anyone know what sort of purses he has taken? The "fame" alone attracts $/often. ED "TOO TALL" JONES went 6-0 & quit. Remember for his first fight it was more than $100,000.00 purse he took and this was back in the days AROUND THE TIME John Tate held WBA.
OH YEAH, Mickey Rourke is not a "success" at BOXING but he hasn't "flopped" either. It's all relative. He is taking it at a certain expectancy level and for THAT yeah, he has "done Okay"! But, for a boxing FAN used to following careers of men such as the Carlos Zarates of this world....SURE..Mickey Rourke gonna LOOK like "Mickey mouse"!
I think that comparing ACTING STATURE of CHUCK NORRIS and MICKEY ROURKE is like comparing GEORGE FOREMAN BOXING with//hmm..... Well their great range to pick from..JACK O'HALLORAN? BETTER? BOONE KIRKMAN? Both them get much respect but...theY AIN'T GEORGE FOREMAN! [Serious boxing fan can pick up what I am saying. It's "radar"!]

Re: John Wilkinson Self promotion
I have a friend a 65 year old ex military man.weighs 130 lbs 5ft 8 he runs a 6.00 mile and his punches are very very fast to the eye.he does yoga and is flexible (no back issues) .i swear the guy looks amazibg onthe pads and bag much better than men 40 years younger in some cases.
I know he could hurt someone bad if inclined.im not sure if he could take punches like a man half his age tho.
But isnt boxing about not taking punches?
Or testing if u can land more than u receive?
John is an experienced boxer,he is fit , men older than this, age routinely climb mountains these days......im inclined to say some men are above the fray ,and a experienced former pro who didnt really get stopped or have much mileage in a four rounder with an equally matched foe of a similar age ....should be alllowed with 16 oz gloves ,medical precautions etc if they want to do it and its fairly matched

Micky Rourke relatively recently BOX'D someone\ Somewhere! He's "pretty old". As far as I know, Saoul Mamby is the oldest "real pro" to compete. He was just shy of 60 if I have the facts straight, and fought a 10r vs a "true journeyman" and lost a decision. [Can not tell you if the rounds were two min or three. I presume they were standard!]
