Bradley will be on very good money for fighting Pac for the third time. I doubt Camp Eddie can make him an offer that he'll even think about.danamba7 wrote:Would Bradley travel to the UK again? Neither of which will be in England.

Re: Khan v Canelo May 7th!
For such an obviously talented fighter Brook's opposition has been shockingly poor. Even when he was down to fight Brandon Rios and Diego Chavez both of these fights seemed underwhelming, stalling his career. But, Porter aside, they would have been the best names on his resume by quite some way. He didn't even fight them!keirw wrote:With all due respect, fcuk brook, maybe if he had faced one or two more top opponents in his career he wouldn't have to bang on about Khan constantly.jimcook wrote:even if khan could remain onhis feet for 12 rounds against canelo, there is no way he would ever get a decision ...even if he deserved it. his management are making an inspired cash out play by throwing him to the wolves in this one. he has no chance in this fight , but they figure that they can get two big paydays rather than the one. i suppose it makes financial sense.
i feel sorry for brook though, was looking forward to seeing him splatter khan.
Khan has upped the stakes so high now (he mentioned fighting Canelo last year I think so this is not that much of a surprise to me) that Brook has to fight Bradley, Garcia, or the winner of Porter/Thurman in his next fight otherwise he is king of the "who needs him?" club and looks completely mismanaged. He is known by the more casual boxing fanbase but isn't anywhere near as big as he should be and I doubt big enough to pay to bring any of those names over here, so he'll have to take the short end and fight them in the states.

I don't get the assumption that Khan v Brook could do Wembley. Doesn't seem anywhere near that big to me. Especially down south.

Re: Khan v Canelo May 7th!
Of course he will get more. The U.S. charges more for PPVS, you have site fees etc. People kept going on about Froch-Groves II, 80,000 and all that last night. Froch came out with around £8,000,000. He is arguably one of the biggest names in Britain, but chased Chavez in Vegas next, do you think that was purely based on his dream of fighting there?Rob3_142 wrote:Brook does fight Bizier in March, but that's because he has a mandatory World title defence. The idea was to get it out of the way March, to open up a super fight in the summer. I'm sorry but how can you be criticised for being world champion and defending against world level opponents? Neither Brook or Hearn are in control of the mandatory opponents, and it's the responsibility of being world champion. Okay his other fights outside of mandatory challenges are in their control, but it's not like time is against Brook, those fights will come. Kahn was supposed to be that move to bigger fights.ste1983 wrote:Massive respect to Khan he wants to fight the best and does!
In the meantime Kel Brooke fights Brizier in March
I'm also not that convinced he's getting more money with the Alvarez fight than he would have got for the Brook fight. Considering he was being offered the lions share of the split from the Brook fight, I doubt he's being offered anything over 40% for Alvarez. Also 80'000 sell out, and inevitable PPV (Britain does a remarkable sales in PPV against US).
I look forward to the fight non-the-less, and will be interesting to see how Kahn gets on carrying the extra weight.
If Britain is a huge draw can you explain why Floyd “MONEY” Mayweather has never come over here to milk that cash cow? Floyd earned around $25,000,000 for Marquez, a fight that was seen as competitive as Babe Ruth Vs a glass piñata and didn’t take place in front of 80,000 at Wembley.

Khan has played an absolute blinder here. Brook has been royally shafted and Eddie must be gutted.

Yeah, I just don't see it. Froch/Groves 2 was so big because of the conclusion of the first fight which was in front of what, 1/4 of the spectators?Rob3_142 wrote:Some think it would of been bigger than Froch - Groves IIDeadendgeneration wrote:I don't get the assumption that Khan v Brook could do Wembley. Amir has got some bottle, Brook is a big welter but I very much doubt he'd face any of the light middleweight champs. If Khan puts on a good show the Brook bout is still there but Kell needs to up his opposition.
Re: Khan v Canelo May 7th!
The Brook fight is still there even if he gets annihilated.palooka wrote:Amir has got some bottle, Brook is a big welter but I very much doubt he'd face any of the light middleweight champs. If Khan puts on a good show the Brook bout is still there but Kell needs to up his opposition.
The fight would make less money, but he'd still be a very good opponent for Brook and he could still probably demand the lion's share.
Re: Khan v Canelo May 7th!
Do you think he'll even attempt to get back to 147 after this fight? Maybe he'll look/feel more comfortable and stay at 154? I personally think he's ready for chucking it after Canelo but who knows....Horse wrote:The Brook fight is still there even if he gets annihilated.palooka wrote:Amir has got some bottle, Brook is a big welter but I very much doubt he'd face any of the light middleweight champs. Suppose Brook is a big Welter so could step up no probs but there are so many good fights at 147 for him. I'm a fan of Brook but he's a frustrating character.
Re: Khan v Canelo May 7th!
In one swoop he's proved he isn't afraid of boxing Brook. Best of luck to Khan, I can't see him winning but if he and his team have had this in mind for a while I can see him giving it a right go.
Re: Khan v Canelo May 7th!
I reckon he'll keep fighting and move down if there's a big fight for him.Stuarty30 wrote:Do you think he'll even attempt to get back to 147 after this fight? Maybe he'll look/feel more comfortable and stay at 154? I personally think he's ready for chucking it after Canelo but who knows....

You are right, but I'm not sure Babe Ruth references belong on the British and Irish board.Metal Fingers wrote:

Of course. I should have used a legendary British baseball player. I apologise profusely and am self-flagellating myself as we speak, I just won't say where.keirw wrote:You are right, but I'm not sure Babe Ruth references belong on the British and Irish board.Metal Fingers wrote:

They must be spewing nearly as much as Camp Eddie.handsofstone wrote:Khan getting badgered on Sky Sports News now about the Brook fight, leave it Sky,who gives a fvck,Khan is fighting Canelo Alvarez baby
They'll have been desperate for the Brook vs Khan Wembley fight.
Is there any mechanism where Fwank can host a PPV without Camp eddie and Sky to really put one over on them
