That guy who got a small feature in Boxing Monthly a few years back made me laugh. Invented his own belt (think he called it Mickey Mouse something) - would declare a new champion everytime he lost (and he was a journeyman) and then instantly strip him and award himself the vacant title.

Anyone remember this?

Only one I can think of that comes close to that is the WAA, which was created by a guy for his son after the WBC wouldn't rank him or something. And he also gave a title to his son-in-law, but stripped him because he and his wife divorced or something  Fokelore

While we (well, I) am on the subject, does anyone have information at all on any of the following. These are sanctioning bodies which have no website, no champions that I can find, no information at all other than they appear in all these lists of existing bodies. They seem to me so obscure they make the WBF and U look like the real thing.

IBB
IBL
WBI
UNIBOX

Unibox - I have seen a few champions here, does anyone know where they're based, is it Spain?

The other three (Int. boxing board, int boxing league, world boxing institute I know absolutely nothing about. Don't suppose anyone could help?

Here's a question I need answering, hopefully somebody more knowledgeable about boxing than I am can help me out.

Why are the Universal Boxing Council champions all from Earth?

I can only imagine that planets with intelligent life are so far away, all their number 1 contenders must have died during the journey to our Solar System.

 :(

Few more than that I'm afraid. Murray Watson - what happened to Limmond?; Foster-Simpson, and Alexander-McDonagh. I'll get back to you on which promotion company is staging these global delights

Its nowhere near as bad as it used to be though, the intercontipenticontinental whatevers every week were abysmal. I'd like to see ITV take Sky's stand - real titles. Most of those fights are good matchups do they really need the WBU belt to make them more marketable. In my opinion they're great as non title fights. Seemingly Warren looked to be getting rid of the WBU belts but is now reintroducing them - or we just got lucky as there were no matches that could be made for them for a while!
It's bad that theres WBU title fights again , but on the positive side at least fighters don't chose the WBU over the British title anymore .
