Fighters with awkward styles.
Who are some fighters, past or present, who were hard to fight against because of their awkward style?

Richar Abril seems to stand out for me. Brandon Rios had a nightmare catching him clean but came away with the points decision somehow?

The only time I've ever seen a boxer punch their opponent in the head whilst the head was actually in the floor after a knockdown.Rexob wrote:Carlos Maussa terrible style and horrible to fight against.
Insane stuff.

Diego Chaves. Relentless fighter just getting better. I can definitely see why Kell Brook ducked out on that fight.

James Toney's boxing (at lower weights, anyway) was beautiful, not awkward.Tanzio wrote:James Lights Out / The Burger King Toney
Difficult fighter to compete against doesn't = awkward.

No idea. I can only assume the ref figured, that after all he'd seen for 6 round or so, that Maussa had no fvcking clue what he was doing.jezzamundo wrote:Thanks for pointing that out, hadn't seen it before - crazy stuff, how wasn't he disqualified?!Lenny Cravats wrote:The only time I've ever seen a boxer punch their opponent in the head whilst the head was actually in the floor after a knockdown.Rexob wrote:Carlos Maussa terrible style and horrible to fight against.

Fair enough. I think that Toney was awkwardly beautiful in his approach. Awkward is not (always) equivalent to ugly.Joe Boxer wrote:James Toney's boxing (at lower weights, anyway) was beautiful, not awkward.Tanzio wrote:James Lights Out / The Burger King Toney
