Although Frampton is getting the bigger purse, Hearn claimed that after paying their trainers etc, Quigg would walk away with far more money. Blaine McGuigan claimed that this was slanderous.G0mez wrote:

But one stable has 30-40 world, Euro and British level televised fighters... and the other has basically one.
It's like running a jumbo jet with one passenger. All that staff for one guy. Whereas Matchroom has the same amount of staff but an endless list of fighters - so the annual staff bill is evenly distributed across numerous events, rather than just one or two fighter's purses.
Most fighters pay their trainer, their spars and any associated meals/flights and that's it. Some have a separate manager/ agent on top. But I fear Frampton's income is running a whole company - because I dont see any other cyclone fighter tipping in large amounts of money.
Maybe I dont have all the facts, maybe they have business on the side and it's a part-time thing with Carl? who knows.

Did anyone ask Blaine mcguigan what the fvck he has to do with the price of fish and what, exactly, is his place on the Frampton gravy train?Pugilist-specialist wrote:Although Frampton is getting the bigger purse, Hearn claimed that after paying their trainers etc, Quigg would walk away with far more money.G0mez wrote:

Re: Carl Frampton (IBF) vs. Scott Quigg (WBA) - February 27th 2016
He's Barrys son does'nt that make him speciel ... Honestly the more you watch the Mcguiggans , the more distateful they become ,, In Barrys endevour to become a world renowned , no nonsence manager , he really is just making himself Irelands version of Chris Eubanks .
All this , the dressing rooms was just tactics nonsence , Just shows he's trying so hard to play the crafty manager , he's just looking like a pillock .. and Shane with his , setting Joe up for a push shove match , well thats bollocks , the whole world knows its not going anywhere, with security there , he's (Barry ) Arguing with security , Jeez is there ANYONE that familly has not argued or upset in the build up , they think there being clever , there just looking like PRATTS.
Whats the new one , if they have a certain commentator there pulling out ,, problem with idle threats is like swearing , if you do it to much it loses its meaning .

I didn't think there were many diva's in boxing , but the whole Frampton camp are playing the role well.

Re: Carl Frampton (IBF) vs. Scott Quigg (WBA) - February 27th 2016
Im a big fan of Frampton he's one of my favs,i like his boxing style, rate his ability and like how he comes across outside the ring but i think the way him and his team have acted since the fight was made has been pretty poor, nothing OTT but just a bit tiresome,Carl seems obsessed about being the A side and ticket seller, popular fighter, proper champ etc and he's just been constantly belittling Quigg who i think has carried himself very well throughout,in slating Eddie and Joe's arrogance, what team Frampton have done is do the same thing their accusing the other team of,coming across as a bit precious
I remember seeing an interview with Frampton years ago where he says he very chilled and even his wife says he's too laid back and before a fight Carl says he has to tell Shane to tell Barry to leave the dressing room because he's too excitable and all Carl wants to do is relax with a bit of Sam Cooke before a fight but Barry gets too animated and he's been at his worst for this fight
I would probably still like to see Frampton win but i'd be happy for Quigg if he won,he's worked hard for it and seems to have sacrificed his life for the sport
I cant wait to get there,im leaving 1st thing in the morning, ive been to a few pro shows before but never a big one like this,i usually like to be in the comfort of my own home for the boxing but i'll make an exception for this, ive told my mates i'll no be fvcking about in boozers im watching every fight and have even nipped to the bookies for pens and slips to score the fights

Very interesting that 313 votes in we have Quigg as slight favourite for a stoppage win.

Pretty much sums up how I'm feeling. I was a Frampton fan but I haven't liked their attitude in the build up to this at all, and I've felt Quigg has held himself well. I think Frampton is the favourite going in but I wouldn't mind Quigg taking this, he seems a decent lad.handsofstone wrote:Im a big fan of Frampton he's one of my favs,i like his boxing style, rate his ability and like how he comes across outside the ring but i think the way him and his team have acted since the fight was made has been pretty poor, nothing OTT but just a bit tiresome,Carl seems obsessed about being the A side and ticket seller, popular fighter, proper champ etc and he's just been constantly belittling Quigg who i think has carried himself very well throughout,in slating Eddie and Joe's arrogance, what team Frampton have done is do the same thing their accusing the other team of,coming across as a bit precious

Re: Carl Frampton (IBF) vs. Scott Quigg (WBA) - February 27th 2016
I dont doubt that there may be a few too many people making money from Frampton but one has to admire the effort McGuigan has put into Framptons career from the early stages. He took some chances of his own along the journey and has had a big part to play in where Carl finds himself now. Are there questions to be asked about some of the people earning from the team, yes possibly but as far as Barry and Shane are concerned they both seem to be meeting the requirements of their job descriptions. Barrys popularity and fame undoubtedly made Frampton a household name much earlier than he otherwise would have been, his management led him to titles and now this huge fight.
Im not saying that Barry McGuigan is perfect but its easy to criticise the part he and his family are currently playing in Framptons career. However before you do that, lets remember how he got to this stage. He would have known the benefits to having the McGuigans on board when he signed up with them and I doubt very much he has ever regretted it.

I disagree that it's purely down to Sky hype. I just think a lot of people changed their view of this fight after the last performances from both boxers - Frampton looked fragile & clearly had problems with the weight, whereas Quigg blew away Kiko in 2.watsupdoc87 wrote:exactly, i really hope everyone who says quigg wins really lumps on big money on him and makes framptons odds stretch. will be a lovely sight watching my ladbrookes account going up for once!chad wrote:That's the SKY hype effect.Goz wrote:Very interesting that 313 votes in we have Quigg as slight favourite for a stoppage win.
