Thank God I dvrd this at the last second and watched bisping/Silva. Shitty fight.
Re: Quigg v Frampton has arrived!
Indeed, Silva was robbed in a great, memorable fight. The third was something I have never seen before and will unlikely see again.SaadOffTheDeck wrote:Thank God I dvrd this at the last second and watched bisping/Silva. Shitty fight.

Re: Quigg v Frampton has arrived!
santa cruz fights martinez on showtime now, who frampton took the ibf from and
who challenged quigg for wba. frampton said after the fight he wants SC and SC
already said he wanted the quigg/frampton winner, so today set the table for
SC vs frampton. i would take SC in that one.

Re: Quigg v Frampton has arrived!
I had Silva 3-2, can't call it a robbery. Taking off a minute with bisping reeling in the last Rd is his typical dumb ass bs that makes him a laughable call as the goat. I was glad to see bisping get the win.Tanzio wrote:Indeed, Silva was robbed in a great, memorable fight. Didn't hurt my feelings. Silva failed to finish and he was punished for it.SaadOffTheDeck wrote:I had Silva 3-2, can't call it a robbery. You are correct, robbery was an inaccurate term for the decision. Bisping received a gift.

frampton points, but thought there was an outside chance of him stopping quigg. but put my money on the straight out win for frampton just to be safe.ClivePatrickLyons wrote:watsupdoc87 wrote:self praise is no praiseClivePatrickLyons wrote:

Re: Quigg v Frampton has arrived!
i think hes very overatted myself, and apart from one round never really shook frampton. its easy to say quigg could have done this and that if he started quicker but i believe frampton would have just changed his plan if that was the case as hes a far smarter boxer. in the end he was 7 rounds up going into the 8th so didnt have to put himself out there to get tagged by a lucky punch. quig gave away the first 6-7 rounds ffs, the job was nearly done there. and when there was a bit of pressure he came out in the 12th with a lovely round to show his superiority as quig was getting a bit of momentum. but i believe he only got that bit of momentum because frampton, his team, the crowd and everybody else apart from quig and gallagher knew he was so far ahead on the cards not dropping a round going into the 8th tat he was pretty much coasting if he done nothing sillyClivePatrickLyons wrote:watsupdoc87 wrote:I think this will be quite an easy fight for frampton. quigg is way overatted and will get outboxed and stopped late.

Re: Quigg v Frampton has arrived!
I apologize for being unable to do the intended round by round. I don't have Showtime where I am at. They claimed that the fight would be on at Kilt Lifter. Got there on time to find out that they did not purchase the Showtime feed but they had the Bisping v Silva fight. Got caught up in that (very good) fight while searching and calling places to watch Quigg v Frampton.
Joltin' Joe's claimed to have it so we headed that way checking Bub's and the Taphouse along the way. Got to Joltin' Joe's and same story. Settled for some pool with middle aged women attending a convention looking for trouble.
Point is that in that entire bar hopping journey I was the only person who was aware of Quigg v Frampton happening, including the person I was with. But there were scores of people aware of the UFC fight happening simultaneously in the United Kingdom.
Reality was a bitch (again) yesterday, although it sounds like Silva v Bisping was more entertaining.

Re: Quigg v Frampton has arrived!
I predicted a Frampton points victory all long since this fight was first announced.
I scored it 116-112 to Carl.
Quigg was very cautious in the first 7 rounds of the bout (because of which surrendering them all on the scorecards) but had he came forward and opened up then I think thst Frampton would've stopped him.
Frampton broke his Jaw in the 4th round with an uppercut and he would have done even worse had Quigg stepped in.
Not the most exciting of fights, but a boxing Masterclass by Frampton.

boxing masterclass. hahaha.
Re: Quigg v Frampton has arrived!
Horrible show. Boxing is utterly full of shitbags right now. Gavin McDonnell on the undercard.... simply awful. Quigg/Frampton.... fought like cowards until Quiggs corner told him he was miles behind... then we had a few moments where a fight threatened to break out.
Some of the UK PayPerViews recently.... Klitchko-Fury, Bellew-Cleverly 2, Brook-Gavin, Lee-Saunders and Quigg-Frampton.... if all those fights were on the same card they still would have been dreadful value. Seems like a culture of fighters being more afraid to lose than the desire to win.

Re: Quigg v Frampton has arrived!
Quigg layed an egg.
It was shocking to see how poor is his punch arsenal, compared to Frampton. No bodywork, no counterpunching, no uppercuts, no jab.
One can't blame Frampton for the poor fight, as he did try to press forward.

Everyone can say what they like I watched the replay last night and the fight was in the balance until the end My pick was lucky to get the split decision in the end Quiggs body shot were really starting to worry Frampton and if Quigg fought with more belief he could have been the one winning the split decision so I must say if Quiggs over-rated then surely Frampton is in the same boat Santa Cruz Will punch the soul case out of both if they fight like that if and when they move up to Featherweight.

santa cruz is a fraud fighting a guy the two of these guys already beat 3 times between them and at a higher weight. would fancy either of these two against lscClivePatrickLyons wrote:watsupdoc87 wrote:i think hes very overatted myself, and apart from one round never really shook frampton. its easy to say quigg could have done this and that if he started quicker but i believe frampton would have just changed his plan if that was the case as hes a far smarter boxer. in the end he was 7 rounds up going into the 8th so didnt have to put himself out there to get tagged by a lucky punch. quig gave away the first 6-7 rounds ffs, the job was nearly done there. and when there was a bit of pressure he came out in the 12th with a lovely round to show his superiority as quig was getting a bit of momentum. but i believe he only got that bit of momentum because frampton, his team, the crowd and everybody else apart from quig and gallagher knew he was so far ahead on the cards not dropping a round going into the 8th tat he was pretty much coasting if he done nothing sillyClivePatrickLyons wrote:

Re: Quigg v Frampton has arrived!
I'll bet you neither will beat Santa Cruze who's almost the opposite to Frampton/Quigg when it comes to letting his fist do the talking
Re: Quigg v Frampton has arrived!
Forget LSC. Frampton should be center of the front row at the March 12 Rigo fight in Liverpool. He should call Rigo out at that fight, challenge him to come to his backyard and play.ClivePatrickLyons wrote:I'll bet you neither will beat Santa Cruze who's almost the opposite to Frampton/Quigg when it comes to letting his fist do the talking
Quigg v Donaire should be the co-main.
Frampton and Quigg are not over or underrated. They have both earned their way to the spots they are in.
Re: Quigg v Frampton has arrived!
I've see Frampton fight twice (his last two fights) and i'm not impressed. I had the Quigg fight a draw and that's only because Quigg fought like a scared infant for 8 rounds in that fight. Quigg's corner is more to blame for letting the kid kiss the fight away early. They waited until the start of the 7th to let him know just how many rounds he gave away.
I'm just not impressed with Frampton and don't see what all the hub bub is about. He won't be able to hang with the big names feeding around that weight.

Re: Quigg v Frampton has arrived!
Frampton was bounced twice of the campus by a 19 year old amateur from Mexico so you would expect for him to fight like a homosexual. Qugg however is a different story altogether. The biggest fight of his life, a career defining fight and he biatches out. Wtf ? A brawler with no heart. A disgraced coward. If he fought as a biatch against frampton, SC would surely run him out the ring. He should at least have fought as a man and preserved his dignity and name but instead failed

That would be a great card
