Hennessy is not able to deliver Stadium fight in the UK, thats why the delay. He is moaning again about stadiums not stepping up. Is this a charity match or what? Thats why a lazy, domestic level promoter should not be in charge of the world title fights. I guess eventually it will go Germany.

Probably a venue-money thing.

Despite having lost the title and done more than his fair share of deathly dull fights....the Germans adore Wlad and he can fill one of those big German footie stadiums with punters prepared to pay top deutschmark even if they're half a mile away.

You get the pretty tempting scenario with Wlad of making properly decent money on the door and not just through the TV business.

The Fury's are probably ruminating over whether to go back to Germany and make a frigging fortune - but having to go through all the K2 hassle again of spongy rings and being generally dicked around - or just taking a bit less and doing it over here.

Both parties also left it a bit open-ended as well as far I recall; Wlad had the rematch option but it did not define that many specifics.

Wasn't there something about the rematch having to take place in the best location financially?

My guess is that Hennessey/Fury are desperately trying to find a venue in the UK before they run out of time (there must be a deadline in there somewhere) and have to go back to Germany

Fight definitely happening, maybe May-June, but finding a venue and agreeing a date is problematic. Sounds like they want a stadium, but obviously the football season is still ongoing, so unlikely.

The fight wont come off and fury will end up getting stripped of his belts. All this rematch clause shite. The contract should state a date time of any rematch, if that date does not come off the champ can fight who the hell he likes. Fury will end up losing his belts.

Well didn't the contract state that Klitchko could trigger a clause if he wanted to? They wouldn't organise a fight if the clause wasn't triggered, and there wouldn't have been a rematch if Klitchko would have won. You can't organise a fight that might not happen!

Last I read was Munich on May 7th.

But as everyone points out, it's been tumbleweed for a while.

That's just not practical that far ahead of a purported event. How would that be organised for a fight that might not even happen?

I understand what point is being made here. Sure if klit had won no need for a rematch. But in a ontract you could state that in the event of a rematch it would have to be sorted by say March 2016, if a rematch could not be agreed by that date then the rematch will be forfeitted. So after klit got beat his backers then should have been on the ball the following day making arrangements for a date in that month. We can get men to the moon simply but it seems organising a sporting rematch is an impossiblitiy.

I agree - even his comments immediately after the fight, talking about achieving his dream and maybe not fighting again raised my eyebrows.

On the face if he would be nuts to stop now - there are some decent fights out there and should be big money, but who knows how another person thinks/feels ?

Getting men to the moon was hardly 'simple' - cost billions and took about a decade.

He doesn't come across as the most normal of individuals. Maybe money is not what he's after. I doubt he'll ever be short. I wouldn't at all be surprised if he decided to take on the Olympics and then come back again.

Any chance of initiating this option in the Parker Forum?

Or is it already here and I just overlooked it?

If they don't make a date soon it will clash with Euro 2016 and harder to sell out a stadium with that going on

Just seen the Tyson Fury interview on IFLTV. He does not look interested AT ALL.

Maybe he's just going to leave it to his management, and when there is a date he'll start engaging in it.

That's fair comment Tony....it will be wall-to-wall footie before we know it and the broadcasters will also get nervous about it clashing with a big match on free terrestrial TV. The Europeans have got even more teams this year at the finals as well, so less gaps in the schedule.

Mick H seems to be angling for a stadium blockbuster in the UK - doing a Hearn - but appears to be struggling. Half these places make a packet out of season doing concerts (probably far easier than boxing) so they've got options and aren't sitting around praying they somehow get Fury-Wlad.

Reckon Mick and Tyson might have to go back to Germany at this rate.

Just hope Tyson isn't busy getting fat in the meantime. This has turned out to be such a weird state of events.
