Your post made perfect sense, there was nothing to criticise, I thought that was obvious :TU:

Yeah... The understanding that no overrated woman beater who ducked his top contender for 3 years and feasted on the corpses of smaller shot fighters would ever beat Greb.

But he could probably beat Basilio if that makes you feel better.
Do I detect a lingering hint of disagreement?

Archie Moore - Light heavy weight champion
Ezzard Charles - Light heavy weight condender

Now ask yourself, what do you consider to be their natural weight?

Both at 175-185lbs. I'd rather win the heavyweight championship, from the greatest of them all, Joe Louis than win the lt heavyweight title. You know this mate, Ezzard was denied a title shot worse than even Archie was. He, IMO, has the greatest run of wins at the weight. He won his series with Archie and after the Baroudi fight, vowed he would not fight a smaller man again. He then move up and beat a slew of contenders culminating in his amazing performance against a faded, but still incredibly dangerous, Joe Louis. I'm sure we have spoken of the baw hairs involved before...

Aye, this one's probably been done to death.
I just saw the opportunity to flip your argument on it's head.

It's probably fair to just say the two of them were pretty shithot

Yes, I am a huge fan of both. I like facts too, and when they are weighed up Ezzard always tops it for me. There are simply no fighters around just now that could hold a candle to this great pair...

Perhaps a better question is whom was the best jazz musician of them both? :D

To the original topic, I like BH when compared to Current Scenes, which I started ignoring a few years ago when it became clear that most posters who weren't trolls, sycophants for a few fighters, or uber-nationalists had left. I also enjoy the posters on BH who can talk about lesser-known fighters at the lower weight classes, who know Miguel Canto or Nicolino Locche or Alan Minter from Ali and the Klitschko brothers

Il Duce was banned for passing fake results to a naive 'record keeper' in here.

I know from all your bizarre posts going back to your 'Brutu' days that you live in a fantasy world, but even you must have had some inkling he was simply making stuff up. Actually, now I think about it, you were his #1 fan so you probably thought his stories were kosher.

Hey,just for the sake of curioisty, would you please list what fight results Il Duce had passed on to this certain naive record keeper?
who may have been dumb enough to believe him.
I've been curious for some time.
BTW you sound like you may be a boxing history genius.
Why wernt you asked to replace this moderator on the forum here?,
as you appear to be suggesting this certain moderator was obviously an incompetent.
Im guessing that these so caled "Fake" results were first reviewed by a panel of Boxing HISTORY moderators
(each bring their own expertize) to the subject before said results were deemed "suspect",
before their removal and subsequent "vapourizing" of said poster (as well as anyone suspected of being
this certain poster under another assumed posting name.
I sure hope that they just didnt take the word of another poster with an axe to grind and vengence in their heart.

We can work down from #5 to #1 if you like.

#5 is the one 2 posts above this one; it appears to have been written by a nutter.

Caractus, benefit of the doubt is sensible....but you are also being very imaginative in your assumption with him.

He was imposing confusion, and really was not playing nice.....and it was habitual, and perhaps obsessive.

I defended him, because I'm curious and eclectic, but eventually he wore many people down with his personal attacks,

more than his unusual opinions or cranky ways.

FYI to those interested.....

Caractus is not Il Duce, maybe a kindred spirit, but far les rampaging after others Than Benito.

You can't hide writing style, not even medication would cover that. And they are vastly different.

....maybe a few quirks in common....nothing more.

All I know is in two months time it will be two years since Il Duece
was vapourized from this forum and some certain posters seem still kind of obsessed with him.
Perhaps they should go seek some professional help ?

I respect a lot of the posters on here. There is a lot of knowledge, but there are also some stubborn wankers. If you're wrong, just fvcking admit it. I hate the petty squabbles and I'm as guilty as anyone. I don't post very much at all these days, mainly because of a one particular arsehole.

It's a shame, because this could be something special. I prefer one of the forums on Facebook, where you can talk to some of the actual boxers you discuss.

I don't disagree yance......but in his specific case he ended up taking his fantasies with facts to the point where he was mucking about with the data base.

So I think he earned the scorn of too many people to find forgiveness again.

I enjoy the strange and unusual opinions. (got a few myself.) I don't even mind the name calling to a degree, because it gives me a chance to attempt to see if I can appeal to the better angels of folks.

I like striving mightily for peace within diversity. Don't even mind being the rodeo clown, and getting the wrong end of the bull from time to time.

But when the Gran/Duce went beyond just unique opining, and insult slinging, to actual real "digital damage" to the database, those who set the parameters, found him to be over the line.

We have a rule about insults....it may even be a bit too strict for a fight forum....I mean c'mon...many of the fighters themselves live by them. So that's very rarely been the reason for banishment.....we got some room for tempers, I think the only time that has been the straw is when someone has added hounding, or threatening someone. Insults get attention, threats get the board of education.

....and Yancey........FYI
.... I noticed that when I responded to your post it somehow disappeared both from my quote and from the thread...........if I clumsily did this please forgive....it was not intentional....and is a mystery to me....unless you deleted it while I was responding? I've never seen that happen before....
