Nope, Nate subbed him. It was very likely and I called it. Please go through the posts. Nate is never desperate on the ground. Very measured and he subbed him.danamba7 wrote:People love a conspiracy don't they! This fight was picked because it does the best numbers on late notice. Conor getting subbed isn't out of the question but I do think it's unlikely. Nate's far more dangerous of his back than he is on top and can you really see Conor trying to take him down? Nate could pull guard but that doesn't seem like a Diaz thing to do because unless you're slick at flying subs, it often points to desperation.

Everyone realized that, Farcenix. Mr. HypeJob took the fight at 170 because he was blinded by his own hype and he was in mad love with his left hand. This fight was over by the time that McGregor went for that weak assed takedown. He was simply avoiding further serious damage standing. He almost tapped out before the choke was even sunk.Lancenix wrote:He went up 25 pounds in weight. That would be like Floyd jumping up to fight Kovalev. Exactly and that is why the argument is so dumb. Floyd started the stupid argument and McGregor responded. Floyd then played the race card of course and the thing got way out of hand. But McGregor said he would fight Floyd but not in a boxing match.Boxerbeetle wrote:Well that's just effing stupid then. He can fight no doubt but he's a tad overhyped to say the least. I'm assuming his background is kick boxing?
I'm glad I took the tip on here of Diaz by sub
Your right about the boxing. Did you get the 9-1? Well done, I didn't have the confidence to lay down money on Diaz.

So fornicate. I've seen Floyd spar guys that are super middles and probably soarred 180+ and they couldnt land a single shot. He and Pacquaio have overcome 20lb in-ring weight advantages before against elite fighters. The GOAT lists in boxing are filled with fighters like Armstrong and Robinson who regularly won titles in the face of huge weight disadvantages.
McGregor made a name for himself by talking about Floyd every time he got in front of a microphone yet fought a fat slob who took the fight at 7 days notice and was incapable of slipping a punch after the first time he got tagged.
Tbh i was just starting to like McGregor. Maybe he should have been a boxer, i think a good defensive coach like Adam Booth could have made something from him because he has natural talent for throwing punches. The only way is down for him in mma, his wrestling doesn't seem up to much, he can't hang with bigger men, and nobody successfully goes down in weight. Ever.

Re: MMA thread?
Too much is being made of the weight issue.
First off, Nate is a LW, not a WW. They just both agreed to fight at WW.
Secondly, not only is Nate a 155 lb fighter, he only had a 3 day fight camp and would be a far bigger threat to McGregor had the fight been at 155 with Nate having a full camp.
Thirdly, McGregor is a LW... no matter how many times he fights at 145, he belongs at 155.
And lastly, McGregor stated countless times that weight classes do not matter. Yet, now he is saying weight was an issue.
Hopefully this loss brings him into reality a bit and maybe he'll start showing other champions some respect. Dude was touting himself over the likes of DJ and Bones. He should feel silly after getting stopped by a gatekeeper type fighter who had only days to prepare.
