Rigondeaux is not a clown he's a boxer of the first rate.

Anybody know if he's in exile? He should have made some proper money with his abilities.

He picked up a couple of million dollars and utterly stank the place out in his last outing. HBO execs were ringside and were in the thick of people boo'ing the spectacle. I can't see them putting their hand in their pockets anymore.

With regards the visa, foreigners come to fight in the UK week in and week out, from all over the world.

Many of them come with just their trainer and maybe their manager. Not a huge entourage - and yet someone of Rigo's stature cannot make preparations for this in time? there is no credible excuse at all.

There has been talk for several years, that Rigo has surrounded himself with sycophants and inexperienced people who don't have the first clue about business or how boxing / promoting works. They think just because he's a skillful and unbeaten champion, that that's all they need. The reality is he is not an entertainer and has a flaky reputation. He's sh*t the bed with most TV execs and promoters from what I can see. Shame.

Yes, he is a first rate boxer. Which makes the way he is ruining his own career even more clownish.

I had a ticket for Frankie Gavin v Van Heerden and got AJ in a walkover against Love because Eddie needed Gavin as an opponent for Brooke on a pay per view show, I also had a ticket for Eggington v Gavin and got Eggington v Evans (still a good fight but a think all will agree not as good). Both of those shows were promoted by Matchroom (and it was the main event that was effected) so I don't think its always one thing after another just for FW
Not saying it is mate, but this is a thread about Frank Warrens card on Saturday, but i would say it happens to him more than most latley

I too had a ticket for Eggington v Gavin, its dissapointing was the point i was trying to make

You would think the paperwork for him would have been in order more than a week or so before the fight

Got to be another reason. Maybe allegedly is pulling the old bait and switch now the tickets have been sold. They'll have disagreed on price and the visa will be an excuse

Maybe hearn has approached him on behalf of frampton; that's what I would have done. At the very least it fucks things up for his biggest rival.

I hope Frampton fights Donaire or moves up and fights LSC or Selby, he's worked hard to build a fan base, what's Rigo done? Got the boot from American TV because of his safety first style. He's got enough skill to dominate and put on great performances but we get poo like his last fight. I'm done with him.
WTF is he doing in Russia in any case?

It's no wonder so many boxers end up broke, they just do whatever they want to whenever they want to do it. Not a ounce of common sense.

Nothing yet, I'm not expecting anything today because it's a bank holiday in Russia, hopefully Warren calls in a few favours and gets it sorted. Don't think Rigo will arrive tomorrow as planned but I reckon it'll get sorted in time for the fight.

Hope you're right mate :TU: Hopefully if he does arrive late it'll give Dickens a wee bit of an advantage. Not expecting it to be that competitive in any case but I'm trying to be optimistic.

All said and done Rigo could probably land in London on Saturday morning and get brought up to Liverpool on the back of a moped and still win comfortably

Very disappointed. I opened this thread hoping to read about how Rigondeaux had chopped up his credit cards in a protest against Big Business & was now fully involved in the barter industry :verysad:

His trainer trains Chagaev aswell I think. Could be wrong on that though, not 100% sure.
