Having read another post, Cardle disrespectfully referenced to him as a small hall fighter in an IFL interview after the fight which doesn't say much for him - he got outboxed in their first fight and was lucky that Dodd gassed and last night he was outboxed again in my opinion and was steeped to get a draw. Cardle and Gallagher's reaction after the decision says it all really.
just watched the interview............cardle comes across badly............spent too much time with his trainer???????..........

:TU: I thought the early commentary was woeful, they gave Cardle far too much credit for staying out of range. Cardle was outboxing himself as well as Dodd, he used so much excessive motion he didn't have time to punch.
I'm glad it wasn't just me then , gave Dodd rounds 1 and 3 and a share of 2 , Cardle simply didn't throw anything , Dodd threw a pretty good scoring jab all night that wasn't even mentioned . Another robbery and how Dodd stay's so calm is beyond me , he is a credit to the sport :TU:

Thought cardle was a prick in his ifl interview post fight. Disrespectful towards Dodd. Cardle is bang average at best with no punch. All that bollocks before the fight of last time you bought me down to your level, jumped up mug, very very lucky to still have that belt this morning

The only reason Cardle is anything is because he managed to get onto the GB squad as an amateur, if it wasn't for that he'd currently be doing doing the rounds on small hall shows hoping for an opportunity on a TV show, just like Dodd has had to. To call Dodd bang average when he's got a early stoppage win in the last round over him while behind on the cards, followed by a lucky draw in the rematch, is ridiculous. If Dodd's bang average, what's Cardle?

Camp Eddie will want him off the payroll. He'll make more from Masher.

I don't often decide to score things, but I did for this and had it level after 10, then Dodd taking the last two.

Not sure we'll see a rematch. I think Cardle believes some sort of hype (created in his head) that he's "proven" to be better twice and probably won't entertain it. The reality being that Dodd will probably get a decision next time around and he doesn't want to lose his undefeated record.

Derry and Masher are very very good friends so that won't ever happen!

Absolutely Gutted for him I had him winning by 4 ,would of been a great story few years ago hadn't even boxed got into it won a couple of novice titles then to turn over and end up with a British Title would have been amazing, deffo not the end for him! I actually think if he moved over to Warren and fought Stalker it could be big in Liverpool given the amount of tickets Masher does!

Cardle always comes across as a bit of a prick to me, he lost that fight very disrespectful thing to say.

Lets face it if he wasn't with a trendy trainer I'm sure Matchroom would have dropped him and he'd be around small hall/just below domestic title level. Not that theres actually anythign wrong with that!!

I agree, it always looked to me like hearn was putting him on cards as a bit of a favour to Gallagher, only showing a bit of interest in him when he got himself in a position to fight for the British title.

I bet hearn signs Dodd soon, a massive ticket seller in one of the more lucrative cities in the country must have him salivating. He probably wishes he won the fight too (though he would never admit it, obviously)

I thought Dodd won. But I also thought buckland beat him two fights back.

I certainly didn't see it as a robbery.

Agree that Cardle and Gallagher didn't behave with much class.

Personally felt the rebrasse cards were far worse and the coming from two foreign judges shipped in, it makes you wonder.

Cardle fought like a man who'd climbed into the ring nursing 2 broken hands and 2 cut eyes... before the first bell rang.

You have to wonder if he's gun shy because of the cuts he's sustained nearly every fight, or if he has brittle hands.

The fight was had a close but clear winner - Dodd.

Cardle needs to address a few things and should count Saturday as a very close shave.

I had it a draw. No idea what Cardles gameplan was. Hardly through punches but Dodd missed with pretty much everything he through.

If Cardle doesn't give him another fight hopefully Eddie gives Dodd a crack at Campbell and the Comminwealth.

Mashers coach has posted on Facebook that Cardle will not entertain a 3rd fight but Masher will fight for a title on Bellews undercard, I hope its not Campbell for his C/W as Masher is a mate and I wouldn't fancy him at all in that fight!

Sean Dodd won by 2 for me. Dodd has took it really well and is coming across really well. I've heard stories about his past but he seems to be turning his life around with boxing the saviour once again. Fair play to him and he has a massive following from Birkenhead and Eddie has already said he can fight on Bellew undercard. He'll be sorted for a few quid now from Eddie getting on all matchroom Liverpool shows. However as people have said he's a good, area/english level fighter but no more than that for me.

So onto Cardle a highly fought of amateur. He has always been awful to watch but he really has found his level in these 2 fights. It was like the tactics were that they knew they couldn't outbox Dodd, so dance around and try get the ko. It was awful from Cardle and to be fair to Gallagher his corner work was good trying to get his man going. He doesn't come out of this well with that icl interview and if it wasn't for the matchroom and Gallaghers gym connections i'm sure Eddie would drop him. His dad seems like a cock too.

Cardle came across as a complete nob in his IFL interview. Not sure if it's arrogance or delusion but he seems to think he's a level above Dodd, even though it's been proven on 2 occasions he clearly isn't.

Calling Dodd a small hall fighter when he's sold £50,000 worth of tickets is a bit daft really.

Never really rated Cardle much, but aside from that didn't really have much of an opinion on him. Can't wait to see him get flattened now.

Every chance of that has hearn done a deal for kev hooper manager to drop english belt and get a shot at British so ohara Davis gets shot at vacant English on aj under card and hooper v winner of cardle Dodd.

Total disgrace of a decision. I hate boxing at times like this. I had Dodd cruising it by the end, 3 rounds clear easily, Cardle did nothing after his early dance moves and landed barely anything of note, tried to defend his title on the back foot but it quickly became apparent he wasn't landing enough of his own work.

I had a feeling they'd rob Dodd though - crushed his dreams right there he should have that Lonsdale belt right now - the stoppage in the first fight was harsh also when, low and behold, we all had Dodd up on points.
