Add Paul Smith's last 3.
John Murray.
Unless his fighter is odds on favourite they seem to lose. Liam Smith wouldn't fight Andrade (his paper title is not highly regarded)
Re: Gallagher fighters in big fights
Macklin vs strum
Re: Gallagher fighters in big fights
Crolla?
Gallagher tends to be called a tactical genius is one fight and clueless in the next.

#RecordsAreForDJs
I agree though - unless the odds are greatly stacked in their favour, his fighters lose

was only thinking today that he has lost his mojo a bit .
Re: Gallagher fighters in big fights
Off the top of my head here are the big fights against top fighters from the division hes been involved in:
Paul smith vs ward, Abraham x2, degale, groves
Record: 0-5
Quigg vs frampton
Record: 0-1
Stephen Smith vs selby, pedraza
Record: 0-2
Macklin vs sturm
Record: 0-1
John Murray vs Rios, mitchell
Record: 0-2
Crolla vs perez
Record: 1-0-1
That's a record of 1-11 with 1 draw when his fighters step up. Trainer of the year my a**e!

Re: Gallagher fighters in big fights
Wouldn't have mattered who they were trained by, they'd all still have lost but would they have got into the position to get those fights without Gallagher? I don't have a clue.

Gallagher gets paid to train his fighters and devise a plan to beat their opponents.

Amazing fact #76. 50% of all boxers in big fights lose.
Re: Gallagher fighters in big fights
Therefore Gallagher should have at least a 50% success rate?keithmoonhangover wrote:Amazing fact #76. 50% of all boxers in big fights lose.

Re: Gallagher fighters in big fights
He's defiantly overrated as a trainer, he gets good results at British and European level, he's never had a fighter from scratch he's had fighter given to him and he's a arrogant pudendum as well

Re: Gallagher fighters in big fights
I appreciate the attempt at humour but interesting fact #77 is that there is such a thing as a draw in a big fight. Shocker right.keithmoonhangover wrote:Amazing fact #76. 50% of all boxers in big fights lose.
Re: Gallagher fighters in big fights
The style of his fighters seems to be come forward in straight lines, sit on the other guys chest and trade shots with a peak a boo defence.

Technician, tactician, artist. Coached to the highest level and a joy to watch
Re: Gallagher fighters in big fights
I agree - however, as his boxers are mostly in Camp Eddie these fights are hardly 50/50 affairs so as soon as they step up they invariably get beatpimp wrote:He's defiantly overrated as a trainer, he gets good results at British and European level

Anyone see the interview where he compared his gym (which is actually khan gym) to the kronk back in the day! Laughable.
