That wasn't Cortez that referred that one, it was Richard Steele.
My bad you are correct.

I mean, at least its one way to see who should refereeing big fights.

But as mentioned earlier, good refs are the ones you don't notice.

He'll step in the middle of great action with one of his tongue lashings just to get it on TV and be the show. He loves to do this whenever the action gets hot too and totally kills these fights. He did this in the last 30 seconds of a fight recently and completely squashed the toe to toe action to end the fight. Can't remember who but i've had it with that dink.
I agree, he's the very worst.

He interferes when it's not necessary, always siding with one boxer or the other.

One of the worst ref calls imo was by Rocky Burke in the first Mathis v Holm fight.

Unbelievable and unexcusable.

Cole is not only bad he is a crook. Cheats out of town fighters in awful ways. Daddy's boy was always hired when his dad ran the Texas commission. Shocking stuff and I doubt it is because he is inept.

After last night's Browne-Kalajdzic fight, I'd say Tony Chiarantano

Based on last week, off a single performance

Malcolm Bulner who "missed" four overt knockdowns in the Petalcorin-Kimweri to "save" Kimweri from getting behind on points. The terrible favoritism and a full review of the fight is under way: Kimweri the local favorite from Australia, was given a split decision win, which would have been unanimous for the Filipino fighter Petalcorin, if the Australian ref had acted impartially:
