Yes, Schmeling is ranked #4 in his 1933 division cluster. -> + 16 points

But his single bout in 1933 against Baer was a straight TKO loss and so he did not get any opponent rank points in 1933. -> +0 points

... and now Hopkins:

OK, yes, the annual ratings have to be corrected too - his TKO loss was counted as a 0 performance and so he got lost in 1933 . :TU:

- 1994: Hopkins was #9 at middleweight, but #12 at light middleweight had a bit more points, even converted to middleweight. So Hopkins was only #21 in the cluster

- 2008: had a close loss against #2 Calzaghe and got these 67 points for that

- why reconsider Hopkins 2011-2013, what is the point with it?

- 2012 Dawson lost to Ward after he closely defeated Hopkins - so Dawson fell back behind Hopkins ...

I really don't know how anyone can think boxrec ratings are any good: Check out Super-middleweight. You now have Badou Jack Below George Groves.

Lennox, I know, you are binding a winner and a loser for year in your ratings. :D

But I say, if the winner looses points after a fight, he might well fall back behind a boxer recently defeated before - especially, if the result was close.

Split decisions aren't strong enough to block the loser IMO... especially considering Jack was (essentially) the home fighter.

JCS - If you are really defending Badou Jack's position at 11 with two fighters he recently defeated now above him then I have lost all respect I had for you, because that is straight barmy.

You're putting words in my mouth.

All I'm saying is that a split decision should NOT be a very strong barrier.. Styles, Home advantage, bad scoring.. can easily turn this win into a draw or a loss...
