The UK and USA media are anti christian and anti white? Fury is an outspoken Christian - the NWO wants to minoritize whites in all white nations - yes Fury can be suffering because of a political agenda which is anti white and anti Christian - there's no other explanation -

The fact is that no-one has been acting as an apologist for either Ali or Joshua, whereas you have done nothing but attack anyone suggesting Fury has been the architect of his own lack of popularity. No-one has belittled his achievements in the ring, and I've yet to see a post where Joshua's accomplishments in the ring have been measured or compared to Fury's.
The only hating going on is coming from you and Wes Shaw.
The majority of people have stated that Fury isn't adored by the British public due to him opening his mouth.
The point was made that in his time Ali liked to talk a hell of a lot, he was loved then and he is loved now.
Tyson Fury loves to talk a hell of a lot and he isn't given anywhere near the same freedom to say what he wants.
As for Joshua you are an AJ-nuthugger and Fury will deal with your man in the ring when they meet...

During the 1960s in the US black men used to be hanged while the police turned a blind eye. Society has moved on.
People finally seem to be grasping the idea that attacking and belittling women and minorities is a bit backward, a bit negative, a bit ignorant.
But hey, of course it's completely unfair that society might want to hold people to a higher standard these days. Bring back the good old days of throwing bananas at black footballers, treating the missus like an unpaid slave, and knocking seven shades of shit out of anyone ethnic looking, eh.

If that's what you like Taki .. Crack on.. Hahaha fool.. Trying to make ali's comments justified you clown.. That interview was at least mid to late seventies.. How old fashioned were ali's opinions.. Stop shooting yourself in the foot.. Save the bullets and put one in your head ffs..
I'm only joking Taki.. But cmon take a effing break..
Love Thy Neighbour was mainstream TV in the 70s. We had the always entertaining black and white minstrels. In the 80s Jim Davison was on prime time TV doing his hilarious Chalky character, and the BBC were happy for the word Paki to be in Only Fools and Horses. Is the world a worse place because none of that shit flies now?
I can't think of anything that would justifiy any kind of bigotry. But why don't you miss the point I was making about society having moved on entirely.

Ali was born in the American south in 1942. Don't you think any claims of him being racist should address the nature of the society in which he grew up?

Because he doesn't fight on Sky and doesn't have Sky sports propoganda "news" ramming him down the throats of viewers on loop every hour like Joshua etc do.
Matchroom have a monopoly with sky. It is uncompetitive and to the detriment of boxing.

That is not the definition of charisma. Charisma is the ability to Charm and endear yourself to all and sundry.man wrote:no it isn't. charisma is he ability to drawjamesmcdonnell wrote:It's a matter of taste I guess.man wrote: tyson fury has deficits in many departments,

Even if Fury did have the platform that Joshua does, I think he'd probably be a bit marmite, his oddball personality and sometimes prickly behaviour would not be everybody's cup of tea. I could be wrong, maybe he will get the platform one day, he deserves it for his achievement in beating Wlad.
I'm not saying Joshua is particularly charismatic, he's pretty dull, but he delivers brutal KO's, and the public likes to see that. It helps he's a young handsome chap, my missus kept harping on about him 'Oh he's a good looking boy isn't he?' she said 'You know he's bent as a banana on a roundabout?' I said. You get my drift anyway.
I agree regarding Fury, whilst he may beat Wlad again (I believe he will, quite handily), there's other fighters out there who are more aggressive who will give him a lot more trouble.

is not the same as likeable and charms are
not necessarily required. hitler had charisma,
but maybe lacked a little in likability.
charismatic boxers were ali and jack johnson.
mike tyson in my view was not. he was just very
successful within the ring, which is not the same
thing. joshua has no charisma, neither do wlad
and vitali. on the other hand both david haye and
tyson fury have it.
it is a mysterious, rare quality.

charisma
/kəˈrɪzmə/
noun
noun: charisma; plural noun: charismata
1.
compelling attractiveness or charm that can inspire devotion in others.
Jack Johnson was a social pariah in his own time, and hated by most (due to racial views at the time) - he is charismatic to the eyes of modern audiences because of what he did and how he achieved it against the odds, but you might say he was posthumously charismatic.
Ali had it in spades, though he was vilified for much of his early career, he came to be adored by the public and media, almost universally (aside from round Joe Frazier's house) - if ever a man embodied Charisma, it is Ali, without a doubt the most famous sportsman of time, even now.

subject. charisma to me is a personal
quality and white people making jack
a pariah doesn't take away the magic
quality he had around himself, which
showed in the reverence the black folks
had for him. joe louis was way more
popular, while in my view had way less
charisma.
a charismatic person enters a room and
everyone realises him before he has said
a single word or done a single thing. i
exaggerate, but i think it indeed is like
that. you just look up when this kind of
human enters the scene.
btw, there are other definitions as well,
like:
: a personal magic of leadership arousing
special popular loyalty or enthusiasm for
a public figure (as a political leader)

I doubt the Queen would get behind Tyson Fury.
Re: why can't Britain get behind Tyson/team fury???
They ARE behind him... It's just that he likes to be controversial... America was behind Ali -- except for all the haters. Everybody has them but some boxers attract a lot more than others. Mayweather has three 7-foot tall body guards because he likes to say controversial things. So does Pacquiao. I guess they told Pacquiao "The more you talk the more you're in the news" ... but you can't say stupid things. There's a fine line.Boxerbeetle wrote:Most British boxing fans are fans of Tyson Fury and want him to do well.
Re: why can't Britain get behind Tyson/team fury???
But where does this "you can't say stupid things (anymore)" sentiment come from? There are obviously still prominent public figures saying stupid (or bigoted, which really isn't all that different) things all the time, or we wouldn't even be able to have the conversation. They sometimes face backlash or other consequences, but none of that amounts to them not being able to speak their mind -- or become heroes to the kind of people who find it refreshing to hear stupid things from the mouths of public figures. Some of them even go on to completely baffling political success.
Re: why can't Britain get behind Tyson/team fury???
I think there's a difference between reasonable objection and taking offence. Some people genuinely do not understand what is and is not an offensive comment or joke. And that works both ways -- those being 'offensive' and those taking 'offense'. Ricky Gervais made a joke about Caitlyn Jenner (sp?) and some people suggested it was transphobic, but he quite rightly pointed out that if ANY joke about Jenner -- irrespective of context or content -- is transphobic then any joke about Bill Cosby must be racist.squiggy wrote:But where does this "you can't say stupid things (anymore)" sentiment come from? There seem to be almost as many people desperately searching for something, anything to be outraged by as there are people saying genuinely offensive things. Between them they muddy the waters to the point where it's hard -- for many -- to distinguish between forthright, plain speaking, honesty and outright bigotry.

I am guessing Fury is now recruiting muslims and other anti-semitic fans:

Re: why can't Britain get behind Tyson/team fury???
Let's just hope that the Wladimir that I expect to show up, actually shows up & knocks Fury the f**k out.
I'd be more confident in that taking place had there been some changes made in Klitschko's camp, but I haven't heard anything about it. But, then again, things have been very quiet on that end & that may be a very good thing. Hopefully, it means that Wlad is 110% focused on training & it will show on fight night.
If it does, then we should know fairly early because Klitschko will let his hands go early & often. And if he does that & keeps his work rate high while cutting off the ring & pressuring Fury, I think he stops him.

Who cares if they can't get behind him. Each to their own (I'm a fan by the way)
