The fact he surprisingly has a world ranking mean it's unlikely the board can say the gulf between the two is too huge.

I like Briggs and putting him in with a good opponent before Haye is a good stepping stone and gives everyone a chance to assess him properly.

Ofcourse you can license him, there are older heavyweights out there who became world champion at much higher age, he recently KOed other top 100 boxrec opponends in the first round and now all of a sudden people doubt about giving him a license?

I think the "Andy Ruiz Jr" vs "Ray Austin" fight is a lot more risky for Ray Austin his health, he's 45 or 46, has only fought 1 match in the past 5 years and Andy Ruiz Jr is pretty much a top contender who can achieve a top 10 ish rank.

That while Ray Austin already lost against Odlanier Solis and Stiverne ages ago.

Plus Ruiz is usually a guy that has to kick your ass for a lengthy amount of time. Not a guy that'll just blast you out quickly. That usually doesn't do your brain any favors.

Probably hits as hard and is more explosive. He could do some serious damage. I'm in two minds. If he meets all the requirements set by the board then why not. He's after a payday and needs the dough but on the other hand I'd hate to see him seriously hurt and Haye is certainly capable of doing just that.

If Briggs is receiving a thorough beating then the referee should step in and stop it.

The Vitali fight should have been stopped.
