Re: Tyson Fury vs. Deontay Wilder.
Tell me Horse, what did Wlad look like vs Fury? He looked horrible, totally shot. Fury had a smart game plan, and executed it, so credit to him. I would love to see Wlad KO Fury in the rematch and then retire, because it is time.Horse wrote:What a load of rubbish.Badhusker wrote:You are only as good as your last fight, and he looked vastly over-rated.
What I said is true. You are only as good as your last fight. Wlad sucked in his last fight. He has to redeem himself, or retire.

Even if Wlad loses to Fury again he can still destroy most of the top contenders.
Hopefully Wlad will continue to fight even if he loses to Fury again.
Re: Tyson Fury vs. Deontay Wilder.
I honestly hope he doesn't. He has had a super career, and a long reign as champion, longer than most. I have always had respect for him, but he needs to retire if he doesn't do better against Fury. I would love it if he KO'd Fury then retired. He is 40. It bothers me to see once great boxers lose to guys they would have beat easily in their prime.Horse wrote:Wlad only looked shot to a fool.Badhusker wrote:Tell me Horse, what did Wlad look like vs Fury? But they are great to test up and coming fighters, unless they are just taking batterings the more decent fighters the better, even when they are in decline. If he wants to he has a bit left in him, even if he loses to Fury.Badhusker wrote:I honestly hope he doesn't. He has had a super career, and a long reign as champion, longer than most. Re: Tyson Fury vs. Deontay Wilder.
I can't favor Wlad to beat Fury in the rematch. He hasn't changed anything about his style in the last 13 years and I don't see it happening now. Couple that with the fact that Fury will have even less respect for him this time around and Wlad being almost another year older won't help matters either. Wlad needs to retire. Nothing wrong with that. He's had a hall of fame worthy career and has made more than enough money to live in comfort for the rest of his life. Meanwhile we need the younger lions of boxing to continue facing one another, making for a more exciting era. The heavyweight division of the past 10-15 years has been pretty poor in terms of excitement and quality talent. But the next generation could prove to be a great era if the right fights are made.
Re: Tyson Fury vs. Deontay Wilder.
Over the first 3 rounds of their first fight, Fury connected with a total of 17 punches, and Wlad had 11. Not per round, total. Pathetic, to say the least. Why Wlad did not even attempt to go to the body is beyond me.
I hope it is a great fight, and both come to fight this time. The first was incredibly painful to watch. At least if Wilder fights either, he will bring some action. Might be sloppy, might be sharp, but you can guarantee some big power shots to liven things up. Wilder's fight with Povetkin is nearly a 50/50 fight because we don't know which Wilder will show up. The smart boxer like he was with Stiverne, or reckless. Either way I can't see Povetkin getting to him for anything significant.

Re: Tyson Fury vs. Deontay Wilder.
I was shocked that he never tried to counter that jab to the body that Fury throws while propping his chin up straight in the air on a platter. I'd say this is 50/50, lean to Wilder by KO.

Yeah. Don't get me wrong. I'm 95% sure he's completely full of sh*t on that, but we'll see. I think Wilder is gonna get blasted out by Povetkin, and fight about 10 more bums to get back a bit of credibility before worrying about the Fury's of the world. I wouldn't be surprised if Wlad knocks out Fury in the rematch either. All he really has to do is throw some punches this time. He's better than Fury he just has to actually bother fighting.SaadOffTheDeck wrote:Then I'll never see him fight again.gilgamesh wrote:Why are we bothering talking about this. I don't know that he is better, I know I won't watch those two giants play pattycakes in slow motion again. I only watched the first fight because I thought there was a chance Wlad would lose and he was getting close to records he has no business seeing. Now that the fraud has been dealt with, no more Wlad for me. Fury/Wilder would be entertaining.gilgamesh wrote:Yeah. Don't get me wrong. Where did this idea come from? Whoseto sa he'd land these punches? Or maybe land some but get countered by more? You have to be way more clever than just throw punches.gilgamesh wrote:Yeah. Re: Tyson Fury vs. Deontay Wilder.
The Pre Fight conferences will be anyhow. I can imagine them both being real nervous and skittish to make a move in the actual fight. Hard to imagine Wilder doesn't catch Fury at some point though. Unlike Wlad he'll actually throw some meaningful punches rather than just stand there and lose a decision.SaadOffTheDeck wrote:

I fully expect Wilder's stock to drop after the Povetkin fight though. Nobody will be talking about Fury vs Wilder for a while after that I don't think. Wilder will go back to fighting dudes that aren't Top 30 and rebuilding his name.

Re: Tyson Fury vs. Deontay Wilder.
And then we got the moment where he had his right arm outstretched lying on the top rope. With his head down and in punching range for Wladimir. Literally WIDE OPEN. A blind man could've hit him. What does Wladimir do? Not even throw a punch.
Fury is not Pernell Whitaker you morons.

Re: Tyson Fury vs. Deontay Wilder.
So to show he is easy to hit, you use a gif where he uses head movement so he can't get hurt, uses his reach advantage effectively and blocks punhes, and one of him clowning around years ago like he never does now.
Re: Tyson Fury vs. Deontay Wilder.
He was there to be hit in that Wladimir gif. The key was Wladimir not stalling like a frightened rabbit before he punched. There were several times in that fight where Tyson Fury was as open as you can be. Wladimir just didn't throw a punch.BitPlayer wrote:So to show he is easy to hit, you use a gif where he uses head movement so he can't get hurt, uses his reach advantage effectively and blocks punhes, and one of him clowning around years ago like he never does now.
That may well happen again in the rematch, but it'll be Wladimir beating himself again. Not Fury beating him.
Re: Tyson Fury vs. Deontay Wilder.
Yeah, Tyson has nothing to do with it.gilgamesh wrote:That may well happen again in the rematch, but it'll be Wladimir beating himself again. Not Fury beating him.

That's right he doesn't. Standing in the ring when the Champ decides not to attempt to fight isn't impressive no matter how much you wanna pretend it is.Horse wrote:Yeah, Tyson has nothing to do with it.gilgamesh wrote:That may well happen again in the rematch, but it'll be Wladimir beating himself again. Re: Tyson Fury vs. Deontay Wilder.
Fury's size has everything to do with it. If he was 6'3, Wlad would jab him and hold him to victory. Tyson is also more athletic.
