Makabu is short for cruiserweight, Mchunu is a god damn midget lol. I saw hearn say in an interview that makabu is gonna get the fright of his life at goodison with the atmosphere but the crowd at this fight seemed pretty loud themselves. I was surprised actually! Seemed like there was quite a lot of people in the crowd aswell.Cyril Henry Hoskin wrote:https://youtu.be/Tfy75S0YXRA
Bellew At A Sold Out Goodison??

Re: Bellew At A Sold Out Goodison??
Unless Eddie has got the knives out, which I doubt, I can't see them going to all the effort of putting this one on if there's a chance Bellew can lose. This one's in the bag I reckon.
Re: Bellew At A Sold Out Goodison??
I think Stephen Smith is in a 10 rounder, though I wouldn't give him any cred for fighting the world no. 110. Paul Smith is fighting no. 133.handsofstone wrote:Usually stadium fights have a long build up,this fight wasnt confirmed too long ago, probably the reason why everyones fighting stiffs,i'll give Stephen Smith some cred for going in another 12 rounder the month after going 12 rounds in a title fight, same with Dodd, although the opponents are hardly stellar,Callum's fights a waste of time though and whats the story with Paul?? If not for the undeserved fights with Abraham and Ward,he'd just be plodding along fighting 6 rounders against Latvians for the rest of his career, occasionally pulling out of some of them
Awful undercard not too disimilar to a Sauerland event
The cycle continues of padding out the artificial Gallagher "unbeaten" record before the usual defeat in a bigger fight.

Abraham beat Smith twice but showed his level by losing EVERY round to Gilberto Ramirez.Cyril Henry Hoskin wrote:Tell that to Arthur AbrahamCaptainSpacerod wrote:He's better than 6 rounders but he's not world class

That's just a joke of an opponent? I mean come on! I would be embarrassed fighting that dwarf.

Big outdoor festival? Less there than a Everton game against someone shit like West Brom.Cyril Henry Hoskin wrote:You have to feel for poor Liam Smigg, all his brethren appearing on the same big outdoor scouse festival and he stuck fighting some unknown and unpronounceable Balkan on his tod at the Echo next week.
Liam's not exactly on his tod is he Butler in an eliminator, Farrag in a european title fight etc.
Goodison card = good main event but shit undercard
Echo Arena card = shit main event but good undercard
Both score similar on the quality of overall card in my opinion in fact you could say overall FW card better value, obviously if your into getting excited by something being 'an event' in a stadium etc then fair enough. I'm a BOXING fan I care about fights.
Re: Bellew At A Sold Out Goodison??
Does anyone have any idea of how many tickets have been sold for this? I didn't think it would be anywhere near capacity. Maybe if they sold tickets right up til the night of the fight you might get a good few folk coming out the pub and heading over since it's a bank holiday...

so glad I cancelled sky when I see all these B level fights laughably masquerading as world title fights. The sky weekend main events are undercard level at best.
Re: Bellew At A Sold Out Goodison??
I'm looking forward to the Burns card. Some decent fights on. Don't know how people outside of Scotland feel about it though. Sunday's card is a bit meh...MightyWarrior wrote:so glad I cancelled sky when I see all these B level fights laughably masquerading as world title fights. I cancelled Sky as well. Just too much money and not enough on to justify paying it especially when most good fights are PPV. I managed to get my fire stick updated so I'm hoping it works ok at the weekend.
Re: Bellew At A Sold Out Goodison??
About 15k I think, they sold a good chunk of the stand behind the goal (including some in the upper tier) and added a few lower tier blocks of the two side stands. Looking at the plans the floor seating is taking up roughly half the pitch.Stuarty30 wrote:Does anyone have any idea of how many tickets have been sold for this? Right, can someone finally explain to me what the fvck a fire stick / kodi /etc is and how it works? I've put my notice in to cancel Sky Sports as it's a rip-off, wouldn't mind looking into a cheap alternative but don't know anything about them.Stuarty30 wrote:I'm looking forward to the Burns card. Beating Tony Dodson and clearly losing twice to Arthur Abraham does not make you world class.Cyril Henry Hoskin wrote:Eddie should have bumped this up to 12 and had some spurious title attached to it, pretty sure one of the WBF's, WBU, GBC or similar would have jumped at the chance to have Smigga as one of their belt holders.handsofstone wrote:Whats the story with Paul?? Smiggs is world class, it's demeaning having him box down the bill 6 rounders.
He shouldn't be in six rounders at all though.
Re: Bellew At A Sold Out Goodison??
Whilst I wholeheartedly agree with your second paragraph the fight for Stephen isn't that bad considering Brizuela is at his actual weight and it is only a few weeks after the Pedraza fight.BigDoofus wrote:I think Stephen Smith is in a 10 rounder, though I wouldn't give him any cred for fighting the world no. 110. You can order em from Amazon mate. You can get NetFlix and BNation through them amongst other things. You load Kodi on to it. Gives you all the Sky channels etc through a stream. Mine works pretty well so far. I've no idea how to load Kodi on right enough. My mate done it.Boxerbeetle wrote:Right, can someone finally explain to me what the fvck a fire stick / kodi /etc is and how it works? You jus plug it into your TV and connect it to your wifi and that's you good to go.

Paul smith said before he tested positive he had a fight for the WBA title all agreed with Felix sturm how the hell does this guy get another title shot he's never beat a top 50 fighter
Re: Bellew At A Sold Out Goodison??
Sean Dodd boxing on the undercard but not against Cardle.
Cardle is boxing a 6 rounder tonight against a Croatian who has amassed some wins at the Joker Gym, Split. The guy is supposed to be a British champion yet is fighting selected opposition to improve Gallagher's win percentage.

He has said it's annoying people think he can't make it just because of the ward fight, he shouldn't have come in overweight then should he!!! If he gets a world title fight the whole of the division should be fumingCyril Henry Hoskin wrote:I'm as baffled as you are by that one, wonder if Smigg can even do 168lbs anyway?craigjenkins05 wrote:Paul smith said before he tested positive he had a fight for the WBA title all agreed with Felix sturm how the hell does this guy get another title shot he's never beat a top 50 fighter

I was just thinking, has there been a world champion before from the Congo or would Makabu be the first?
