Focusing on our judges & referees which was the best each year to kick off'
My proposal:-
1. We open nominations on November 1 & close on December 31.
2. We then list top 10 nominations by way of poll in this forum & close voting January 31 & declare the outcome asap.
As far as refs go I like Matt Ropis, he knows the fight's not about him and likes to keep the fight going and let the fighters try and fight their way out, as far as judges go, unfortunately one of our best, Ben Keilty, has been snapped up by one of the big orgs. as an official. I know there are other top notch refs and judges out there but, as already mentioned, the best ones go unnoticed as that's part of the nature of doing a good job.

What happened to Matty? Haven't heard from him nor has he been officiating since July last year, when he got on the wrong side of Board's member Malcolm McGuinness
Desmond [ACE] Bloyd was a great local judge he was always fair............ Des use to say I judge it how I see it Des was a judge when Vince Phillips KO'd Kostya in the USA if my memory is correct he [Des] had Phillips in front at the time of the stoppage

I think Des used his fingers so he knew exactly who was in front at any stage of the round. He also scored knockdowns properly.

Sorry mate for my dumbness but what are you trying to say the mans no longer with us but his family is RIP ACE.
I know Des passed away. Years ago in another forum he explained the method he uses when judging. You mentioned him, so I thought I'd let you know. End of story.
