It's happening, just badly advertised.

Jimmy Kelly Jr is selling tickets. £40 General, £60 Ringside.

Few additions mentioned last night to this card in Sept 17th, including Luke Evans and John Telford. Most intriguing was mentioned Lee Gillespie against TBA in what will be a "big ticket selling local derby". Intrigued to see who that is.

Nice one Steve. Any snippets you can share on what Terry is doing next, what's going to be on in Bolton and can we wildly speculate on the oppo for Lee Gillespie?

Free tickets to the Kieran Farrell show on September 2nd.

All you gotta do is buy tickets to the Crolla show from Kieran's boxer Nathan Wheatley. You can find him on Twitter.

Nathan also appears on the Crolla bill.

I understand what you are doing, but shouldn't the promoters be promoting these shows better ?

People moan about attendance figures at small shows yet boxing fans don't know about them never mind the less hardcore casual fans.

The promoters don't seem that bothered as they just get the lads to sell 100 tickets each to their friends and family, and when the sales drop off there is another amateur willing to sign for the same deal.

It's hit and miss.

I think most the North West smaller shows are promoted as much as can be. I've posted earlier in the thread how I've seen these evidenced. With the smaller shows, there's obviously a lot of tickets go to friends and family, and I have myself missed shows due to a lack of promotion, but they also have a much smaller budget to work with in terms of promotion.

Most I know are doing what they can. Some tend to not give a crap and are, as you say, just happy with fighters selling 100 and moving on to the next one when the time comes.

Mainly this thread -- in my opinion -- isn't just to make people aware of shows, but also to discuss them as many may want to talk about it but there isn't much of an outlet. Perhaps even meet up if their casual mates aren't that bothered about going, and people aren't total dicks

Mainly shouting about shows in the future at the moment as there isn't any coming up or this month.

We had the VIP show on the 16th at Victoria Warehouse in MCR, however I didn't watch enough of it to comment as had family staying over for the weekend and only watched a bit of the stream.

To discuss what I did see though, coming in half way through the Martyn Grainger fight... I can't say I paid much attention to that one (great insight!)...

Ben Sheedy was competent, however was a bit too advanced for his opponent in my opinion and was picking him off well but didn't seem to push for the big finish...

Ryan Doyle got in a very decent scrap with Ian Bailey to claim the English Title, had Bailey hurt and on my card won every round, which more than made up for the earlier reverse result. Picked shots well and less opponents would have been finished but Bailey showed some grit.

Anyone there, I more than welcome their comments on these and the undercard!

I think the thread is a good idea

You can say some of the promoters could be doing more etc but that's just negative aswell as some of the promoters already doing a great job aswell as promoting which they lose money or barely break even they also invest there own money from there full time jobs and use their personal time, I think the guys are doing a great job and good luck to them.

Also I think it's a great thread to mention some of the small hall fighters to make forum members aware who are interested

Steve wood does the best small hall shows in the north west. North west boxing would suffer greatly if it wasn't for Steve putting on his shows

It's frightening to think how it would effect north west if he wasn't active aswell as how his hard work has paid off making the north west so busy with active fighters and contenders

Very true. It would be almost non-existent. Others are pushing on a bit now, which will hopefully mean more shows, and keep the area thriving. However without Steve, who -- without meaning to cause offence to others -- is very much top of the tree round here, there'd be little else.

Farrell Promotions are starting out, and seem to be making regular shows which is good.

MGM Manchester, I've not been to any of their shows to be honest so hard to comment. I'm sure we've all got our opinions about MGM as a brand though.

Black Flash do very good shows. Almost on par with VIP and bring through some good talent.

Lindemann, I'm really not sure about at the moment. I wish him the best, but hopefully it transitions more to focus on the sport and competition than a "glitzy night out".

Rumour abound -- and I stress it is only rumour at time of posting -- that Gomez Jr has pulled out of the Rutter fight.
