The fact that you don't understand what I am saying proves once again that you are an idiot. Golovkin was pushed into a corner where he needed to sign with somebody within a few days, so they had to once again open options of other weight classes. I hope Loefler learned his lesson and will now always have a reliable backup option.

Facts? I suppose there could be some located in your novels. Facts & logic is not an answer to a direct question.

To be honest, I’m not against some of the nonsense and hype that Team GGG tell the media about their man, because it’s all about self-promotion… and all fighters have been guilty of it at some point.
I don't have anything against Canelo or GGG.
My frustration lies with the fans, because they choose to have different rules for different fighters and will overlook excruciatingly blatant hypocrisy when it comes to “their” horse in the boxing race.

I agree to a certain extent. Cards on the table, of course he's ducked him. But his level of ducking is nowhere near Mayweather's yet. The Pacman duck raised the bar. A few months back I wrote the link below, which is essentially stressing that Floyd's screwed it for any other guy who is going to duck someone. This hopefully will be a good thing long term, mind you. There's another angle to this too, did GGG duck Ward? He never had any desire to move up and fight him.

It looks as though you’re invoking a straw man argument, arguing against a stance that I don’t support.SaadOffTheDeck wrote:So other than Facts & Logic(a fighter I'm not familiar with) what other career high paydays has GGG turned down? I was interested the last time you dodged the question. By all means, enlighten me.
I actually stated that Team Golovkin have repeatedly claimed that they'd fight anyone between 154lbs and 175lbs, as he would "easily" compete at those weights, whilst subsequently refusing to move up a division for career high paydays.
Whether you refute this point or not, there are YouTube videos and interview transcripts of Froch & Ward both claiming that (at one point in time) GGG was not willing to move up an entire weight division to face them, instead he demanded 164lb catch weights.
There are also threads on this forum and YouTube videos discussing Team Golovkin’s refusal to consider facing DeGale last year at 168lbs, their reason was the fight wasn't big enough for them, despite the fact he almost certainly would have earned a career-high purse for that bout.
For sure, Loeffler disputes Froch’s words, because he claimed they would have done 168lbs, but the promoter’s honesty and integrity is in doubt when he also claimed Saunders declined $4m to face GGG when the Brit himself said the figure was only $1.5m, an amount he could have earned elsewhere against an easier opponent.
Re: Canelo Being Treated Unfair Absolutely
There are plenty of videos and articles of team golovkin saying they'd fight anyone from 154-168. I thought this was common knowledge? Pretty silly to argue with historical facts.
It is pretty hypocritical to criticize canelo for khan but not ggg for the brook fight regardless of him wanting to keep the venue and fight date. It's literally the same thing. Nobody pointed a gun at their heads and forced them to drag a guy up two weight classes. Delays and cancellations happen all the time. When Shawn Porter had to get a last minute replacement he didn't drag up a featherweight, he fought another welterweight.
I fail to under how fanboys keep painting this narrative that ggg's middleweight division peers are all running from him and he can't find opponents but then get mad when you suggest he move up or down to look for other opponents. This is like a guy who clocks into work at the same crappy job complaining about how much it sucks over and over but never looks for a new job.

Look, the issue we’re discussing in this thread is whether or not Canelo is being treated unfairly by fight fans. And from what I can tell, he’s being criticised for doing the very same things that Golovkin gets a free pass for.
I’m merely highlighting the fact that fight fans choose to have different rules for different fighters and will always overlook excruciatingly blatant hypocrisy when it comes to “their” chosen horse in the boxing race.

Shhh, so you have nothing. Froch decided to retire. Not ggg's fault. Degale was a career high payday? Doubt that. Ward talks a lot, but there was never a realistic offer or a realistic time. Blogs aren't facts and novels are for books. Carry on, kid.Enlightened-One wrote:It looks as though you’re invoking a straw man argument, arguing against a stance that I don’t support.SaadOffTheDeck wrote:So other than Facts & Logic(a fighter I'm not familiar with) what other career high paydays has GGG turned down? GGG was in negotiations for a fight with Eubank Jr, which fell through, he then took the bout with Brook at short notice, as he wants to fight regularly. He was lined up to fight another genuine proper MW in Eubank Jr, the fight with Brook came along, and he jumped at it.
Canelo by contrast, went into the ring after GGG's last fight, and started spouting cobblers about how he wanted to fight GGG, and he didn't want a catchweight, then dumped the belt, and said he was moving to 154.
Can you see the difference there?

I know, it's ridiculous, the idea he had other options is pretty dumb. I rarely see eye to eye with you, but in this instance you're spot on.

In case you didn't know, James DeGale is a PBC fighter:

Yes, Golovkin has an exclusive deal with HBO which means that any opponent would have to fight him on HBO which makes most of PBC top fighters unavailble. Yes, Golovkin would fight DeGale at 168 on HBO if he could take that fight on a short notice, but that would be extremely unrealistic unless he left Haymon.
