If you had one Boxing Wish, what would it be?

If I had one Boxing wish, I'd wish that Boxing was run exactly like the UFC in terms of matchmaking, title fights and one recognized champion in each weight class. Boxing would become one of the greatest sports in the world.

What would be your Boxing wish?

i'd wish for the times when fighters would just fight each other, no ifs no buts, the best vs the best, and didn't just say things for the sake of saying it.

thats basically it, get the fights on that should be on, too much bad matchmaking hurts boxing, its poxy and ridicolous

Much the same as the OP. One champion, best fighting the best. Never going to happen though with TV and promoters etc..

Personally I'd love to go to Vegas for a big fight.

Fury, Wilder, Povetkin, Wlad, Joshua, and Parker would be forced into a round robin tournament where they fought every 120 days.

If someone got injured, and couldn't fight, they'd be replaced by a Pulev or Miller. No delays. Replacements if need be.

I could also do without all the Jr. aka Super weight classes too. The only additional weight classes that have been added in recent decades that I'd want to keep are Strawweight and Cruiserweight.

I'd rather see Jr. Welterweight and Jr. Middleweights just be Lightweights, Welterweights or Middleweights as the case my be. We'd have a lot deeper divisions, and a lot more interesting matchups.

Middleweight and Jr. Middleweight as they currently are is a great example of what I mean. Neither division is especially stacked outside of the Top 4 or 5 guys in them, but if all the Jr. Middleweights were competing at Middleweight that'd be a pretty damn deep division all of the sudden.

Dunno. Super Middleweight has always been a favourite of mine and a lot of Brits. Not great at the moment but has been very good in the past. Would you ditch 168?

I wouldn't mind keeping 168 either as the gap between Middleweight and Light Heavyweight is a pretty big one...but I could do without Jr. Flyweight and Jr. Bantamweight and all that sh*t where there's a new weight class every 3 or 4 pounds. That sh*t's just ridiculous.

Think the majority of people are on the same page here. One champion per division without the contractual crap that stops the best fighting the best. Common sense really.

It's mad how these guys running boxing are obviously good businessmen to be in the positions they're in but their short term greed stops the sport being 10x bigger, which in turn would satisfy their greed and make them 10x richer.

I don't mind multiple belts, but unifications should be mandatory. This Kovalev/Stevenson thing for example, should never be allowed to happen.

I had it granted when Roy Jones was knocked out by Antonio Tarver... Floyd Mayweather never fought anyone like that or he would have bitten the dust too.

My next biggest wish is 1 World Champion in each weight division... That way the top boxers can't hide---as Chickenson and Santa Cruz do and May & Pac did.

Less state regulations, less fees, etc. -- make it easier for some one to start a promotional outfit. Would be a great way to attract the sport at the local level.

That top fights actually happen and also, that they simply fight more often.

Kickboxers fight 5 times a week, sometimes several times a day. Titleholders fight like once a year?! Or against guys that have absolutely nothing to look for in a world titlefight (Molina, Duhaupas, Arreola).

Definitely liking the one champion for each division. Perhaps an independent body which overlooks and manages the sport, forcing unifications and top level fighters from fighting.

It seems only in boxing that fighters are left to organise the fights themselves, and if there is a mandatory, there are ways of getting out of it. Manny and Floyd should have fought in their prime, but because of nonsense politics they fought when they were both over the hill.

Uniform rules all over the world please!

Boxing is one of the few sports where the rules can change dependent on which country you're in.

Countries like the USA must be really confusing as the rules can change from one side of the street to the next, depending on which state you're in!

A sport as potentially dangerous as boxing needs uniform rules IMHO.
