What is the WBA super? in terms with the WBA 'normal' heavyweight title what does the super bit mean?BitPlayer wrote:"The title", Fury has WBA Super, WBO, IBO and The Ring, I'd be surprised if he was stripped of them all by then. Re: Hughie Fury vs. Andy Ruiz jr - October 29th 2016
It's the real WBA title, they have more than one to pocket more money. Someone here looked at the average ratings by boxrec of the fighter for each of the main titles, and the WBA Super came up as the best.mimmy123 wrote:What is the WBA super? in terms with the WBA 'normal' heavyweight title what does the super bit mean?BitPlayer wrote:"The title", Fury has WBA Super, WBO, IBO and The Ring, I'd be surprised if he was stripped of them all by then. Who gives a toss about Tyson Fury? Not me although I know many do still. Holds a lot of titles including (debatably) the lineal belt which makes him (arguably and certainly strongest claimant) the Champion but for me, he has almost become irrelevant. He is a placeholder and no more. His talk and interviews used to entertain me but the "we are victimised and persecuted" bs has worn thin. They do not get sponsorship and advertising because they are aresholes and do not present themselves in the way corporations would like. Stop effing moaning but recognise it and change or stay the same and stop the bellyaching.
Pull outs of fights, partying, fat gut, no interest in actually fighting. I just do not care at all anymore. He will go down in history as the link man between the reign of Klitschko and whoever the next dominant champion turns out to be.

Re: Hughie Fury vs. Andy Ruiz jr - October 29th 2016
I dont understand this. According to boxrec LUIS ORTIZ is the WBA heavyweight champion, (titles held) the WBA says hes the intrim champion. So Fury is super champion but did he fight for the WBA normal belt or not. According to boxrec he cant have because Ortiz is the belt holder.BitPlayer wrote:It's the real WBA title, they have more than one to pocket more money. So being a super belt holder is better than being a world champion at that weight, even if you have never fought for their regular or normal belt??
Tell you something else that amazes me, all this crap with the WBA and super this and that and boxrec does not reconise any belt holder by MBC or BIBA. Whats going to be next from WBA, Mega Super world Champion?

Do not try to understand the logic behind the alphabet titles. That way madness lies.mimmy123 wrote:I dont understand this. Pisses me off that Boxing Monthly have started recognising the "Regular" belt in their top 10 on the back page

I remember when Boxing Monthly and indeed the BBBoC refused to recognise the WBO. HBO refused to mention the WBO's name on air until I think the late 90s. In fact HBO ditched the name TVKO for their ppvs because it sounded too much like another ABC title. How depressing that they all eventually cave in. Now we have 4 or 5 WBA heavyweight champions at once.handsofstone wrote:Pisses me off that Boxing Monthly have started recognising the "Regular" belt in their top 10 on the back page
God only knows how history will make sense of boxing post 2000.

Good opponent for Hughie at this stage. Hughie by UD.
Re: Hughie Fury vs. Andy Ruiz jr - October 29th 2016
Yeah that annoyed me. I don't subscribe just browse my best mates copies when I'm there. I'm sure they have Joshua above Wlad in their rankings FFS.handsofstone wrote:Pisses me off that Boxing Monthly have started recognising the "Regular" belt in their top 10 on the back page

Whilst the WBA are pure scum this eventual tidying up they are doing ( which is taking far far too long) is creating and has potential to create some good fights.Tuan_Jim wrote:I remember when Boxing Monthly and indeed the BBBoC refused to recognise the WBO. I bet they go back on it straight away and create new regular and Interim champs. Still I'll be happy to see Fury-Ortiz.

H Fury v Ruiz jnr caught me by surprise and Ruiz jnr still has a decent fight lined up before taking on Hughie.
Hughie on points.

Is there any hope of Ruiz winning here. I absolutely can't stand Hughie Fury. He's even worse than Tyson. I can't watch him for more than 2 minutes without switching it off. The thought of the division being dominated by the Fury's in a similar way to the Klitchsko's makes my skin crawls.

Re: Hughie Fury vs. Andy Ruiz jr - October 29th 2016
Andy Ruiz is too obese to be effective beyond C level, which is probably why they keep feeding him 40 year old cadavers. My pick is Fury, but then again he too is so untested something might go wrong when up close and punches swinging.
As I said in the previous thread, their combined opposition has been so risk averse that both fighters should be offended that the other's management deemed them soft enough for their man to take.

Re: Hughie Fury vs. Andy Ruiz jr - October 29th 2016
This fight does seem to happening and Ruiz jnr just got another 10 rounds of experience in the bag, so the path is clear for the Tyson Fury undercard.
For someone who is maligned for his shape he developing well over the longer distance.

Do you reckon Tyson and Hughie are in the shape they are in for fights and outside of the ring due to just unfortunate genetics which obviously do factor a lot when it comes to how good of a shape someone can get into, especially in terms of building muscle; or do you believe they could get in a fair bit better shape than they do?tobyh5 wrote:Who gives a toss about Tyson Fury? I am not sure if the physical appearance is to do with genetics as I have seen nothing to say they have bad genetics but I do not think it matters. They are in shape to fight when in the ring and I think being a body beautiful in boxing is needless. Be fit, strong and ready to fight.

The genetics are so bad that Tyson is heavyweight champion of the world (the real one).
There's clearly no issue here.

Something tells me that Hughie vs Ruiz is NOT going to happen.
I'm refusing to vote until the day before the supposed fight.
