I'll be honest from a normal point of view coming to a different time zone especially from America it feels weird adjusting (sleeping pattern, hunger, constantly feeling like its the wrong time) I hear some people saying GGG must be using GMT in America to adjust to the TD which is BS i don't think they must have been that meticulous to this training camp !bigB wrote:You reckon GGG came in lower due to flight across the Atlantic and what it can do to the body plus being jet lagged etc.
Noticeable difference but he will be stripping to 160 like Kell does to 147 he looks the same.

If Brook peaked at the press workout, then all his amazing facilities and sport scientist's Dominic Ingle has been banging on about is going to look a bit silly
Well, i got my fingers crossed that what Kell showed on that open work out was only 5% of what he wants to do on the night. He was quick but I expected that from WW.
Am I being a bit harsh in saying Dominic Ingle has gone a bit OTT with all the science involved or is that normal for fighters now days ?

No mate I think you are correct, we live in bit of a man by pamby generation where everyone blames failure on being overtrained or having "low energy levels".
That's not just in boxing but real life.

If you are not tight at the weight you aren't fighting in the right weight class

Re: GGG drained ?
Fair argument that theres a reason why people deplete themselves to get to a certain weight, if everyone fought at their walking around LB it would be an interesting world ...Coco wrote:If you are not tight at the weight you aren't fighting in the right weight class

GGG wins in a anti climax, can see Brook being pulled out by his corner.kbackup408 wrote:Fitzy901 wrote:kbackup408 wrote:

Damn.. you know when you said that I just got flash backs of Junior vs Blackwell earlier this year I hope it doesn't get that bad !Fitzy901 wrote:GGG wins in a anti climax, can see Brook being pulled out by his corner.kbackup408 wrote:Fitzy901 wrote:

As mentioned I think this is a bit of a cash out fight for Brook. In fact not one cash out fight but two. Khan will be the next one- probably next summer- defeat against GGG won't affect that

Re: GGG drained ?
Yes mate sad tbh because Brook could have unified at 147 but I guess it will be interesting till it lasts (R3 GGG KO ha)Terminator666 wrote:As mentioned I think this is a bit of a cash out fight for Brook. Re: GGG drained ?
In 35 fights GGG had never weighed more than a pound above 160, and his 30 day weight was right where it usually is. I doubt that he is drained.....
Re: GGG drained ?
With this type of pick sometimes I wonder if they really believe that's the most probable outcome, or if they're strategically choosing the outcome because it will make them stand out from pretty much all the other 'experts'.handsofstone wrote:http://www.sportinglife.com/boxing/news ... w-and-tipsBoxerbeetle wrote:How does he think Brook will do it?handsofstone wrote:Simon Crawford who writes for Sporting Life and someone whose opinion i respect reckons Brook can pull this off,i disagree but im glad someone who knows what their talking about is tipping kell
If Brook pulls it off, this guy can always bang on about how he got it; if he doesn't, well at least he went for it.
Re: GGG drained ?
Ron Lewis of the Times tweeted that Golovkin iwas unwell and cut short the interviews etc yesterday and Loeffler confirmed it to him.

Bloody hell, hope it's nothing too bad
he did look a bit gray faced & sweating at the press conference yesterday, though it's right humid at the moment.
Arriving Monday in the uk seems a very casual approach the fight.....

No
It's just Hearn and sky people mentioning it to brainwash people to think it's any way a competitive fight.

I don't think he's weight drained, but he's definitely off, according to Ron Lewis of the times and his publicist ...worrying times
Re: GGG drained ?
I change my pick then....Brook by TKO.

Re: GGG drained ?
Interesting, sporting life are usually pretty good, but I wonder what this guys pedigree is like when picking fights before, who did he pick out of frampton & Cruz recently I wonder ..handsofstone wrote:http://www.sportinglife.com/boxing/news ... w-and-tipsBoxerbeetle wrote:How does he think Brook will do it?handsofstone wrote:Simon Crawford who writes for Sporting Life and someone whose opinion i respect reckons Brook can pull this off,i disagree but im glad someone who knows what their talking about is tipping kell
Plus his line "Brook's camp say he is hitting harder than ever" is a bit amateurish - what the hell else are they gonna say ?
Even though that might be true ..

May I ask if anyone knows what time the weigh-in is today?

If GGG really is ill, things definitely get a bit more interesting and Brook's chances clearly improve. Would still back Golovkin though - he fought when ill before (against Rosado, I think?) and still looked impressive enough.

This 100%. Anyone picking brook in this fight has been caught up in the sky hype. Obviously there will be few who picked him from the start but in general everyone saw it for what it's going to be. A mismatchNaandrew wrote:No

Fighters on the scales from 1 (don't know who is on first whether it's brook and ggg first or what)
Doors open from 12. Going to head down myself as local and I'm off work
Re: GGG drained ?
Cheers, I finish work at 12 and am in Baker St so will head down then, it's only 20 mins or so.mfc_se15 wrote:Srebmun wrote:May I ask if anyone knows what time the weigh-in is today?
