Is "El Ruso Mexicano" a ridiculous nickname??

Post by StrapMeUp »

For me this alias seems kind of insulting and just flat out dumb. I agree that there can be different styles in boxing but I disagree that there is a "Mexican Style"

I mean Petr Petrov a much better fight, has a Spanish wife lives in Spain but still doesn't stoop to this level.

Does Gradovich have a Mexican wife? Does he live in Mexico?? Or is he just selling out trying to get some needed fanfare. I don't understand being a come forward fighter just isn't enough to warrant this nickname.

He has trained with Robert García since he was about 11-0. He's lived in Oxnard for several years and trained by Mexicans, that's why. Don't see the problem with that nickname

Except after his last performances, it is not so flattering for Mexicans.
