Not sure about predictions inside boxing but Crolla is the bookies favourite. I think the odds started off pretty even. Crolla is best price 8/13 with Linares best priced at 9/5.crusader wrote:Is Crolla a 'big' fav?
Linares is number one with The Ring, ESPN, Boxing Monthly, Boxing News, Fightnews, and more, so he's pretty commonly seen as the top guy for some reason, when by far his best win since being stopped back to back is the life and death with Kev Mitchell.
Crolla v Linares

I think he's filled out, matured, grown fully into the weight.tobyh5 wrote:Crolla physique looks fantastic, gets better and better. His improvement in the latter part of his career is quite amazing really. I just cannot fathom how he has done it. He was always a grafter so not sure what is different. Better diet or supplements maybe?
Hope he enjoys this career peak with a great win over Linares as often it can be downhill afterward.
Re: Crolla v Linares
It could be another Katsidis style fight.
I.e. when he fought Kevin Mitchell he looked a beast, then lost something the next time he came over to fight Ricky Burns (taking nothing away from Burns by the way).
I sense it could be the same thing Saturday - and fair play to Crolla if it's the case and he gets the victory.

Lol kinda yeah, not with conviction but maybe with an inquisitive eyebrow raised
Re: Crolla v Linares
I just think it's Crollla's time and he will put on a show and win on points. Crolla is totally ready for this step up and it will show Saturday.

Yeah definitely better "supplements"tobyh5 wrote:Crolla physique looks fantastic, gets better and better. His improvement in the latter part of his career is quite amazing really. I've been saying for week linares is being vastly overrated. That said I re watched the Mitchell fight last night he is a lot smarter than Barroso and a lot faster.crusader wrote:Is Crolla a 'big' fav?

I can not see why Linares is seen as significantly better than the likes of Flanagan ( who Gallagher clearly doesn't want Crolla to fight), Zlaticanin, Easter Jr even Mikey Garcia. What is Linares best win a shot Mitchell 15 months ago or Oscar Larios at featherweight 9 years ago.

Poor Joe is still jet lagged from Dallas, don't get me wrong Linares is game but P4P great is such a strong title !

He is doing something right like him or not, anybody got his trainer stats must be impressive.

Don't get me wrong mate he is a good trainer comes up with semi decent game plans like 75% of the time but the lad says some deluded things before fights and even post fight
Re: Crolla v Linares
But they aren't good stats at all there are plenty of trainers in the UK who have better winsRexob wrote:Naandrew wrote:There surely is not a more deluded man in British boxing or even world boxing.kbackup408 wrote:

PeterFury, McGuigan, Coldwell, Tibbs, Dom Ingle arguably Tony Sims ( Barker v Geale)
Gallagher fighters at world level.
Paul Smith Loss x 3. Arbraham 2, Ward
Stephen Smith Loss x 1, Pedraza.
Liam Smith, Loss x 1 Canelo
Scott Quigg Loss x 1 Frampton Win x 1 Martinez
Crolla Win x 1 Barosso ( Perez no way can be considered world class )
I've probably forgotten some as well.

Boxing Prospect wrote:Amazing fact, Linares has NEVER completed the 12 round schedule....despite being 7-2 in world title fights. Crolla to break him down late.
Suggests to me he’s a dangerous fighter capable of taking the man out....he matched Mitchell blow for blow despite shipping plenty, from memory....
Can someone tell me what country this is in so I can work out whether I’ve a cat in hell’s chance of catching it somewhere?
Better still I’ll check the boxrec schedule..
Re: Crolla v Linares
Ok, Manchester, so I would anticipate a 9:45 to 10:15 start time...
Re: Crolla v Linares
....interesting. I also do not think the American is without chance. He won’t give one sh*te about the crowd either, which will be raucous for a Manchester lad.Ian1973 wrote:I just can't have Crolla I think he has (to pardon a pun) punched above his weight big time already. Personally, I am amazed at where Crolla is, after where he’s been in just the last eighteen months or so..

Beat me to it! I am here because I have literally just read that he is not American!
Re: Crolla v Linares
Funny how there's so a lot less interest in this bout than the two from the last couple of Saturdays. Has the potential to be so much better & the UK fighter with a decent shot at winning.
