PBC has so many good WWs that there should be no excuse for some of the matchups we've been getting. Robert Guerrero hasn't had a decent win since 2012 but they're still giving him main event fights twice a year, while Danny Garcia hasn't had a particularly meaningful fight in a year and a half, and Lamont Peterson hasn't fought at ALL in a year.

I know boxing matchmaking sucks in general but PBC does seem to be particularly infuriating. Let's recall that prior to the PBC's formation, HBO stopped working with Haymon-managed fighters because they were sick of paying through the nose for showcase fights.

I closely follow Dan Rafael’s articles, his weekly chat and his Tweets… and despite appreciating his work in general, I have often thought that he looked for opportunities to criticise the PBC, suggesting a distinct lack of impartiality in regards to this subject matter.

If you’re a genuine fan of the sport, you shouldn’t really be celebrating PBC’s current situation.
Also, the PBC decided to de-emphasize the WBA, WBC, WBO and IBF.
When they went in that direction, it's amazing how many writers who criticized the ABCs for years wouldn't follow.

I have made the same point you're making since the inception of the PBC.
There is clearly a media bias among the accepted boxing media against the PBC.

I wouldn't say it influenced the fans, because many racists ... sorry ... fans here, were against the PBC for no reason.
Many of these same racists, sorry boxing fans, pleading WITH ME for years for ANY championship fight to be on TV.

Now we can go back to you having to have a HBO or Showtime subscription to watch fights.
Even though both networks will probably continue to cut their boxing budget.
So that means more Crawford/Postol type fights on PPV.

:yay: :yay: :yay: :yay: No more PBC.
Viva Top Rank. Viva Golden Boy. Viva HBO.

Idiots.
I agree with most of what you said but why does it have to be a racial thing? Why can't people just be against the big boss like Dana White (UFC), Vince Mcmahon (WWE), etc?

You are talking to a person who understands that our concept of race is a myth.
BUT, I can only talk for America, it is a huge factor is many people's minds.

I have asked for proportional hate for the other "big bosses".
Go find the proportional hate on this forum.

BTW, Vince Mcmahon should be on the $50 bill. He is great.

Not when Showtime foots the bill. We'll see what happens with the other cards. Great start though.

PBC got 47 cards penciled in, plus Spike cards.
All on channels you get with basic cable packages. HD included.

HBO/TR/GBP combined will give us 10 HBO cards and 7 PPVs. +$100 for HD

It's kind of funny how several so-called boxing "fans" kind of celebrated with joy about the heavily-rumoured demise of the PBC... so much so, that for a while, any threads about the topic received the most hits and responses.

However, now that it's abundantly clear that those rumours were utter nonsense... silence.

Showtime cards shouldn't count as PBC. PBC is supposed to be FREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE or it is no different from HBO.

Half of those cards on on FS1. Lets not act like they are putting on 50+ shows that people actually care about. The showtime fights are very good though.

They not put this monstrosity out of its misery yet?

An unsigned prospect only has to take 1 look at the career trajectory of Garcia or Adonis before picking up the phone to call Bob Arum or Eddie Hearn... or even Oscar.

Look, I love having fights on free TV. I really do. But you can't tell me Haymon has managed all his fighters well. Quillin and Peterson have completely fallen off the map. Stevenson has been fighting infrequently against woeful opposition. Lara only fought once this year and his 2 opponents in 2015 were awful. Garcia fought Peterson a year and a half ago and has fought steadily worse and worse opposition since then.

Even Thurman and Porter, who've been mostly matched pretty well, have had huge gaps between their fights. Thurman going 11 months and now 9 months between fights, and Porter went a full year between Broner and Thurman and now has nothing scheduled.

The only guys I can't really complain about have been Spence, Frampton, and Santa Cruz.

I'm not speaking to the quality of the fights.
I'm speaking to the people (are you one of them?)
who ran off with make believe stories,
and make believe numbers,
and make believe rumors,

simply because they had had NO information.

So, where are the people who constantly start these threads?
This is now the second one that ended the exact same way.
Shit talking, make believe numbers, investors leaving ...
one week later, bunch of show announcements.

You don't follow boxing closely, do you? You would have known almost two days ago, PBC's announcements of fights on the free networks.

PBC is one of the best ever things to happen to boxing.
I had a feeling sometime ago there were rivals to PBC who were on this site trashing it, seemed obvious considering the general high quality of PBC fights.
Thrilled to hear the news the PBC have announced their schedule, looks nice so far keep up the good work.
