Regardless of what happens to the Pbc we are about to get couple of mega fights at 147..Thurman/ Garcia/ Spence , one of them is gonna end up making some serious $$$. i bet on Spence

PBC has so many good WWs that there should be no excuse for some of the matchups we've been getting. Robert Guerrero hasn't had a decent win since 2012 but they're still giving him main event fights twice a year, while Danny Garcia hasn't had a particularly meaningful fight in a year and a half, and Lamont Peterson hasn't fought at ALL in a year.

I know boxing matchmaking sucks in general but PBC does seem to be particularly infuriating. Let's recall that prior to the PBC's formation, HBO stopped working with Haymon-managed fighters because they were sick of paying through the nose for showcase fights.

Whilst it’s hard to ignore the PBC’s troubles, I can’t help thinking that certain media sources have always carried a negative bias against the company, which is strange considering it’s a start-up business that is not funded by the fans (via PPV revenue or cable subscription fees) or by the free-to-air TV networks.

I closely follow Dan Rafael’s articles, his weekly chat and his Tweets… and despite appreciating his work in general, I have often thought that he looked for opportunities to criticise the PBC, suggesting a distinct lack of impartiality in regards to this subject matter.

If you’re a genuine fan of the sport, you shouldn’t really be celebrating PBC’s current situation.

Also, the PBC decided to de-emphasize the WBA, WBC, WBO and IBF.
When they went in that direction, it's amazing how many writers who criticized the ABCs for years wouldn't follow.

I have made the same point you're making since the inception of the PBC.
There is clearly a media bias among the accepted boxing media against the PBC.

I wouldn't say it influenced the fans, because many racists ... sorry ... fans here, were against the PBC for no reason.
Many of these same racists, sorry boxing fans, pleading WITH ME for years for ANY championship fight to be on TV.

Now we can go back to you having to have a HBO or Showtime subscription to watch fights.
Even though both networks will probably continue to cut their boxing budget.
So that means more Crawford/Postol type fights on PPV.

You are talking to a person who understands that our concept of race is a myth.
BUT, I can only talk for America, it is a huge factor is many people's minds.

An unsigned prospect only has to take 1 look at the career trajectory of Garcia or Adonis before picking up the phone to call Bob Arum or Eddie Hearn... or even Oscar.

Look, I love having fights on free TV. I really do. But you can't tell me Haymon has managed all his fighters well. Quillin and Peterson have completely fallen off the map. Stevenson has been fighting infrequently against woeful opposition. Lara only fought once this year and his 2 opponents in 2015 were awful. Garcia fought Peterson a year and a half ago and has fought steadily worse and worse opposition since then.

Even Thurman and Porter, who've been mostly matched pretty well, have had huge gaps between their fights. Thurman going 11 months and now 9 months between fights, and Porter went a full year between Broner and Thurman and now has nothing scheduled.

The only guys I can't really complain about have been Spence, Frampton, and Santa Cruz.
