Fury out, Parker 7, Chisora 14, champ-vacant
Re: Updating the BOXREC Forum Heavyweight Rankings
A really misleading way to put it.jezzamundo wrote:Topic A - How are the rankings affected by Tyson Fury giving up all of his belts after testing positive to a banned substance?
He's tested positive for cocaine and has mental health issues. This makes it sound like he vacated after getting caught using PEDs.

Fury....No Change
Parker..No Change
Chisora...No Change.
Fury is the undefeated champion and every other boxer in the world is unfitting for the championship slot besides him.

Re: Updating the BOXREC Forum Heavyweight Rankings
Fury shouldn't be taken out.
It seems like a petty move to take him out now.

Re: Updating the BOXREC Forum Heavyweight Rankings
I don't see what is gained by taking Fury out now - it isn't as if there is a fight around the corner that'd crown another consensus champion otherwise. We've got a little time just to see how the rest of the situation plays out.
Parker to #5, all the rest no change.

Re: Updating the BOXREC Forum Heavyweight Rankings
I guess it does look that way, though I assumed everyone here would know most of the details - I certainly didn't mean to mislead. Personally, I view Fury as the champion in recess, but didn't even think about the possibility of voting for that. This is a pretty complex issue, perhaps it needs its own thread?BitPlayer wrote:A really misleading way to put it.jezzamundo wrote:Topic A - How are the rankings affected by Tyson Fury giving up all of his belts after testing positive to a banned substance?

Re: Updating the BOXREC Forum Heavyweight Rankings
It will probably be really long time before Fury fights again. For that reason my vote is
Fury out
Parker stay at #7
Dimi is not relevant fight to rank top 15.
Chisora to #13
Activity points. Also Szpilka should not even be on this list.

Re: Updating the BOXREC Forum Heavyweight Rankings
- More like it takes forever to move these poll results. Last time about 1/3 voted for changes yet no fighter moved a single place up or down.
A- Fury remains champ since BBbc is more disreputable than anything Fury has done.
B- Parker to 3rd. He and Josh way underrated compared to slackers over them.
C- Chisora to 15th. He's pants and he and Scott soon to exit.

Maybe a separate vote is needed about if to have a champion in reccess system as I suppose it probably wasn't as obvious as I thought it was.
Re: Updating the BOXREC Forum Heavyweight Rankings
...I believe Tyson Fury has officially vacated his WBA, WBO, IBO world titles. It's only logical to remove him from the rankings IMO..
Re: Updating the BOXREC Forum Heavyweight Rankings
No, it's not.greg wrote:...I believe Tyson Fury has officially vacated his WBA, WBO, IBO world titles. It's only logical to remove him from the rankings IMO..
He's still clearly the champion, so he should be left in.

Re: Updating the BOXREC Forum Heavyweight Rankings
Horse has a point he has vacated his titles but has not retired so why remove him completely from their rankings? Fury might fight again next year so why does he need removing from their rankings just because he vacated titles?Horse wrote:I think you missed my point.greg wrote: http://www.BS.com/tyson-fury-v ... es--109691

Re: Updating the BOXREC Forum Heavyweight Rankings
I most likely did, ...what is relevant in this case to me though is that he voluntarily vacated the world titles and then was officially suspended by BBBofC pending further investigation...Horse wrote:I think you missed my point.greg wrote: http://www.BS.com/tyson-fury-v ... es--109691

Re: Updating the BOXREC Forum Heavyweight Rankings
This is the Premier Boxing Organisation take on it: Tyson Fury should remain until he is deemed inactive which is 12 months at which time he only remains in the rankings if he is a champion of one of the organisations or he has a fight lined up. So he is in for one more month. www.premierboxingorganisation.com/heavyweight-200
Re: Updating the BOXREC Forum Heavyweight Rankings
This 12 months inactivity rule that so many people have with boxers is stupid.
Having 12 months out is a common occurrence in boxing.
It should be an 18 month rule, as that amount of time out is much less common for a fighter.

Re: Updating the BOXREC Forum Heavyweight Rankings
Horse - The standard is 12 months but the ABCs will take into consideration injuries, both sides (as fights can get delayed then fall through aka Wladimir). Most fighters 90% that are top 20 do fight in a 12 month period. If a fighte returns having been ranked his former position is strongly considered. The principle of outing fighters after one year is to keep the rankings full with eligible (15) fighters. In a few weeks time Tyson Fury, Wlad an Povetkin will all strictly be inactive.
Re: Updating the BOXREC Forum Heavyweight Rankings
So we'll take them all out and have a stupid looking list. Great!Lennox wrote:In a few weeks time Tyson Fury, Wlad an Povetkin will all strictly be inactive.
