Re: Danny Williams Returns, Faces Ali Eren Demirezen in Hamburg
He has heard about Price and obviously fancies he can land a shot at Joshua in the new year
Re: Danny Williams Returns, Faces Ali Eren Demirezen in Hamburg
All jokes aside however; the rate that Williams is going at, it can't be long before he's a vegetable surely?!

The Martin Stensky fight must have shot Williams up in the rankings too

When you find yourself trapped in a corner....

Should of set himself up with that Tyson and Vitali money.

He only cleared 35000 GBP for the Tyson fight. Which Warren paid him as the promoter of the fight didn't cough up.emallini wrote:Should of set himself up with that Tyson and Vitali money.
He won't have gotten much for the Vitali fight, the Klit's are very tough negotiators.
People vastly overestimate what the majority of fighters earn, it's only the people at the top of the tree who command vast sums, or those with huge fan bases.

The Klitschkos usually pay fairly well

Dany will have earned a few quid. He had a good few biggish fights. Sam away, Audley twice, Skelton twice, all the domestic battles. He'll have earned a lot more than most of our world champions.jamesmcdonnell wrote:He only cleared 35000 GBP for the Tyson fight. Yeah, back between 2000 and 2010 Danny had a good decade at British/Euro level with plenty of decent fights chucked in. He may not have made as much as some would now fighting the equivalent of Klitschko/Tyson, but surely he made enough that he could do something other than being the sad punchbag he is now? It's a real shame as I was always a big fan of his.
And I don't know why people assume that once you've been a boxer that's all you can do? You'd like to have assumed that a career which included a world title fight, an away win against Tyson and over a dozen fights at British and Commonwealth level would have given Danny enough to pay off his mortgage. I can't imagine he gets more for these Czech/Romanian/Latvian away days than he would working on the doors.

Biggish fights dont mean much when youre on the thin end of the purse. He's not earned anything like the likes of khan and froch. He never had a massive following so didnt really have the drawing power to command large chunks of money. Do you honestly think he'd be travelling around as a trial-horse for peanuts in small venues if he was financially secure?mickey1975 wrote:Dany will have earned a few quid. 'Earned a few quid' round my way, means something akin to 'minted.'mickey1975 wrote:I never said he was financially secure or had earned like Khan or Froch!jamesmcdonnell wrote:Biggish fights dont mean much when youre on the thin end of the purse. Maybe lost in translation.

They'll be wheeling him into fights via a wheelchair if he carries on. This is just embarassing now.

I don't know, is he really going to be taking damage, he'll go down easy and early, it's surely not nearly as damaging as a long hard fight.
