Yeah, back between 2000 and 2010 Danny had a good decade at British/Euro level with plenty of decent fights chucked in. He may not have made as much as some would now fighting the equivalent of Klitschko/Tyson, but surely he made enough that he could do something other than being the sad punchbag he is now? It's a real shame as I was always a big fan of his.

And I don't know why people assume that once you've been a boxer that's all you can do? You'd like to have assumed that a career which included a world title fight, an away win against Tyson and over a dozen fights at British and Commonwealth level would have given Danny enough to pay off his mortgage. I can't imagine he gets more for these Czech/Romanian/Latvian away days than he would working on the doors.

He never had a massive following so didnt really have the drawing power to command large chunks of money. Do you honestly think he'd be travelling around as a trial-horse for peanuts in small venues if he was financially secure?

I don't know, is he really going to be taking damage, he'll go down easy and early, it's surely not nearly as damaging as a long hard fight.
