How far past his prime (if at all) do u have JoCal?

sorry about the JoCal thing, no idea where that came from.
Anyways I'm reading a lot of fight previews and articles stating this is a great fight blah blah blah between 2 fighters in their PRIME... I don't see it. Last few times I've watched Calzaghe I thought he's definitely looked on the slide, slower, less mobile and more liable to wing his shots in and leave big gaps down the middle. And despite the recent noises he's been making its well documented JC has found making 168 a real struggle in the past few years. I'm saying he's anywhere from 3-5 years PAST his very best.
Does ANYONE see this as Prime vs Prime??

It's on his way into prime vs possibly sliding/wait and see....Calzaghe may not be quite on his way out, as he said 4 more fights. If he comes out and dominates, he'll definitely quiet the doubters. However, if Lacy comes in and wrecks shop, he'll be definitely entering his prime, and it would mean a slide for Joe, seeing as he's never lost and finally did.
I see it Lacy before his prime or Joe past his prime. However the winner will probably look back on the fight and regard it as their optimum performance.
I dont think prime is an issue here because Jeff is a bit green and Joe a bit over the hill. I guess one cancels the other out.
Jeff might hit his prime in 2 years, wheras Joe might have hit his 2 - 4 years ago.
One thing that has ocurred to me is that Joe wouldnt have fought anyone as tough as himself in his 22nd fight.
I still pick Joe to win, and if pressed, !st round, just a feeling though.
Its gonna be GGGGGGRRRRRR8

Remember, pay your bets, and if you cant afford to, at least be man enough to meet the man you owe and explain.
If my prediction proves to be wrong, do you think it bothers me that you will be loggin on to criticize my opinion.
You need to get out and meet people.

calzaghe ko1!!! thats hilarious!
if calzaghe KO's Lacy in 1 round I will leave this forum for good.
I respect your opinon.vargas wrote:I see Joe's prime around 2000-2002, from beating Richie Woodhall up until the Brewer fight. If he'd faced the current Lacy at this time I'm in no doubt that Joe would have stopped him. The slower Calzaghe that faced Salem, Veit (the 2nd time) and Ashira will not be able to beat Lacy in my opinion.
Lets hope its a great fight, and that both guys leave the ring with their health intact.

I've gone for Lacy W12, but I'm going to have a very minor punt on round by round for Calzaghe early, Joe's a fast started in big fights like this one and might just overwhelm Lacy.KO Artist wrote:I see it Lacy before his prime or Joe past his prime.
