There are a lot of knowledgeable people on here and I think you'd be hard pushed to find one of them that will agree that Briggs got paid close to a million pounds for that fight. Seriously mate, that's so far away it's unreal.Killer Blow wrote:You clearly don't understand how these things work then.CaptainSpacerod wrote:No doubt but I'd be surprised if his purse approached 6 figures let alone 7Killer Blow wrote: He got paid.

He got paid 6 figures. There were no other big names on the card.keithmoonhangover wrote:There are a lot of knowledgeable people on here and I think you'd be hard pushed to find one of them that will agree that Briggs got paid close to a million pounds for that fight. You said nearly seven figures a minute ago, which be £900,000 or so. Show me some proof of these wild allegations.Killer Blow wrote:He got paid 6 figures. 500 is not close to seven figures, not at all. Do you have some proof or are you just guessing?Killer Blow wrote:Nah, 500k is what I meant.keithmoonhangover wrote:You said nearly seven figures a minute ago, which be £900,000 or so. Show me some proof of these wild allegations.Killer Blow wrote:

Jesus, 500k for an undercard fight on a poor card topped by a glorified exhibition fightKiller Blow wrote:

Not a chance in the world I would be surprised if he took home much more than a 10th of that. I would be surprised if haye took too much more than £500k for a non ppv event in and 16,000 tickets sold once the overheads were taken out.Killer Blow wrote:Nah, 500k is what I meant.keithmoonhangover wrote:You said nearly seven figures a minute ago, which be £900,000 or so. Haye will have been lucky to clear that. Briggs got publicity and maybe just six figures at a push but I doubt it. £50k I'd say tbh

He did not get payed a dime... proving else would proof Briggs lied, which he didn't, Haye walked away with all the money Briggs created for him. And even received credits for giving the money earmed by Briggs away to an injured UK boxer.Killer Blow wrote:He got paid.CaptainSpacerod wrote:Killer Blow wrote:

Nearly a million quid![]()
Had he been paid even a tenth of that he'd have disappeared til the new year

I repeat, Briggs never received a penny, David Haye took all the money to himself.

Briggs would have done well to get 10% of that.Killer Blow wrote:Haye earnt 1m. http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/boxing/da ... ay-8024626fizzjambo wrote:500k - you have no idea what you are on about!Killer Blow wrote:

I'd say 50k is a good guess. Why would anybody pay him more?

If that is true, Briggs is the idiot not Haye. To take a fight for no pay, with no concrete contract in place to get the Haye fight or any future pay off is stupid. To agree to help Haye sell the fight with the story that was given (and I am sure the whole Lets Go Champ schtick helped shift some tickets and get some views) but for no money, no wonder he is broke.

the burden of proof isn't with us, it's on you, prove he didn't receive a penny.asdfjkl wrote:Proof me wrong, if you succeed Briggs will be a proven lier.Counter-puncher wrote:asdfjkl wrote:I repeat, Briggs never received a penny, David Haye took all the money to himself.

Why would Briggs have agreed to fight for free? He really must have taken serious licks to his head to do that.
