Sarcasm?
I'd like to see RJJ come back down to LH and fight the winner.

When they announce the officials, I'll make my choice in the PTBF.

Ward is a master of illegal tactics, Kovalev is the better fighter.

A fair and honest referee is CRUCIAL.

I agree, this fight absolutely needs to have a certain type of referee. It can't be a guy that just let's them fight/figure it out themselves, but it also can't be a guy who gets too involved. We need a referee who understands the difference between the nuances of gamesmanship and the rules of boxing.

What we really need is for both fighters to enter the ring "clean."

I know Ward will. He's a class act and there's never been any suspicion about him.

Kovalev is the real question mark.

The only proof you need is to see how Russians were banned as a team from Olympic competition in Rio.

The Russian amateur athletes have been dirty for decades, no doubts about it, so why can we trust what Kovalev brings to the ring?

Hopkins, a legend who knows everything about the fight game, said that fighting Kovalev was like being in the ring with a cruiserweight.

Where did that strength come from?

I suspect that the answer may eventually be uncovered and it will end in his banishment from the sport.

Some people are stronger than others, some have natural power or develop more power through excellent punching technique.

But he's Russian so he must be the second coming Ivan Drago

Yeah, that really sounds like someone who is a huge Andre Ward fan but is afraid he is going to get thumped. I am a Ward fan also, I think he will win a tough decision. Nobody likes a man who disparages the reputation of another without proof. Whether it be out of jealousy, hate, or whatever, it is simply distasteful and says more about the poster than the person they are posting about.

Neither Kovalev's power or the referee will decide who wins. The guy that has the better skills and preparation will win. No excuses. I think Ward wins.

We as fans will always find an excuse if the guy we choose doesn't win. As you see in previous post on both sides.

Ward has boxed with amazing back acne and worked with conte. Not sure why nationality is more suspicious than that.

Has he, when? I've not seen his fights for a while, but don't recall him having acne in the past.

I don't recall which fight. It was pretty stunning. One of the good fights ages ago. I haven't seen a fight of his in many years.

I think this could be a close fight but I'm leaning to a Kovalev stoppage win as the final outcome.

JDJ says Kovalev has an advantage because he is hungrier, from living in Russia. Hasn't he lived in the states for a while now?

I'm not so sure his confidence is up where it should be yet. Quote from a few months ago: “I don’t know if I can beat him,” Kovalev said in a remarkable bit of honesty considering the bravado often found in boxing. “But I want to fight him. It’s a huge test for me.”

You seriously think he means that? Kovalev is a sort of understated guy in general. He probably just said it to screw with people. It seems like he doesn't really care what the perception of him is, and he comes off as laid back and carefree, but behind closed doors you know he is working like a demon.

It's just so close I can barely separate them, a look at the weigh in maybe more revealing.

Kov said pretty much the same before to the Hopkins fight. He was asked to give a prediction, and stated 'In my mind I am strong, but this is boxing and I don’t what is going to happen'.
