God doesn't wet himself... Maybe you do... God knows Ali avoided a Wilt fight by refusing to sign the negotiated contract to fight him.

BTW... I have as much love for Chamberlain as I do Donald Trump...who I consider a bigot, racist, sexist, sexual predator, and over-the-top blow hard.
But in Wilt's case you have to recognize his outstanding athletic ability---and he wasn't running for president of the USA.. Such athletic gifts are never seen in an athlete who's over 7'1" tall with unbelievably long arms and legs, even for his height.. Guys that size are usually very uncoordinated and can't make the NBA to save their ass... The few really big and tall guys over 7 feet tall who do make it to the NBA generally don't become superstars.. And nobody else ever dominated the NBA record book in so many categories.. If you were a Heavyweight boxer, I guarantee you, if you had one moderate sparring session with Wilt Chamberlain around the time of the 1st Ali fight contract was drawn up -- that encounter would be enough for you, and you probably would decline further entreaties to spar.

Michael Jordan was a fantastic athlete also, although I'm sure you'll say he wasn't as good as Wilt, so,,,, would Jordan be able to beat Iran Barkley?Kalan wrote:BTW... Can you answer this one please Mr Kalan sir please?keithmoonhangover wrote:Michael Jordan was a fantastic athlete also, although I'm sure you'll say he wasn't as good as Wilt, so,,,, would Jordan be able to beat Iran Barkley?Kalan wrote:BTW... Michael Jordan would be a fool to box Charles Barkley.. Lets say they both had a training budget of 10 million and 6 months to train.. They could hire some pretty damned good trainers and sparring partners for that and they could learn a lot if they trained 6 or 8 hours a day.. I read Jordan's best playing weight was 216.. I don't believe that for a second.. He could barely hit a baseball out of the infield as a baseball player off minor league pitching.. He looked damned skinny and weak.. I make him 206 max at his best basketball playing weight..keithmoonhangover wrote:Can you answer this one please Mr Kalan sir please?keithmoonhangover wrote:Michael Jordan was a fantastic athlete also, although I'm sure you'll say he wasn't as good as Wilt, so,,,, would Jordan be able to beat Iran Barkley?Kalan wrote:BTW... Barkley was about the same height but was 250 in his best shape.. He would have much better punching power and resistance to punishment.. Jordan was a very smart guy, but I wouldn't say he'd be a more clever boxer than Barkley.. He might win a few early rounds on better speed, movement, and smarts.. As Barkley tasted Jordan's power he'd get more and more aggressive... It would be doomsday for Jordan in the 7th to 10th.

Re: Joe Louis vs Joe Mesi
Yeah... But I think His Majesty, Michael Jordan, vs the knighted Sir Charles Barkley is a much better and more interesting matchup fans would pay for
I think Jordan could beat Iran Barkley easily because he's so fast and smart and so much bigger and taller then Iran... Barkley was so crude... But I'm not absolutely positive about that, because of how slowly Jordan took to baseball.. He couldn't get his bat on slick pitches despite taking tons of batting practice.. I thought that was a little weird because Deon Sanders and Bo Jackson played 2 sports and could hit a ton at their best.. Jordon seemed to have a blind spot.

Re: Joe Louis vs Joe Mesi
In a boxing ring, Iran Barkley would have used Michael Jordan's head for a slam-dunk contest!
Re: Joe Louis vs Joe Mesi
Clearly Charles was the superior Brakley in the ring. On a basketball court it would probably be different, I could see the smaller and more agile Iran run circles around Charles.Cutman Scabbers wrote:In a boxing ring, Iran Barkley would have used Michael Jordan's head for a slam-dunk contest!
Re: Joe Louis vs Joe Mesi
Two things Iran Barkley wasn't was agile -- or a guy who could run circles around opponents... If you were a weak chinned dummy who got in his face, like Hearns, he could knock you out... But he couldn't beat Nunn, Kalambay, Benn, or other top Middleweights because he wasn't skilled enough... With the presumption Jordan would get 6 months to train and learn the sport, I don't see Iran beating him.

What I need to know was if Joe Mesi could swim?
Once I know, I'll be able to answer this question properly.

Not sure if Joe Mesi ever swam competitively---but Joe Frazier certainly tried to... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NPk2zl5s6xMSyntax Error wrote:What I need to know was if Joe Mesi could swim?

His swimming coach said Frazier didn't listen too good... Maybe this negative trait is why Frazier got punched in the face so much by guys like Foreman... The only guy he ever faced who had tremendous big Heavyweight power.
