Would Tyson have made the count if he wasn't arsing about trying to get his mouthpiece and would the vital seconds it took for his seconds to clean it and put it back in be enough time for him to last the round?

Mike Tyson at one time was a great boxer/puncher. That being said, he is the worst role model and worst piece of shitt that ever has been in a ring. I realize being a great boxer is not always about being a role model, but making a thread of him being the greatest fighter ever in beyond laughable.....pathetic. No surprise though. Whatever it takes to keep BNov's fans (apparently the mods) happy.

Tyson was a riddle for many years, until he admitted being molested as a young child.
The ring was a catharsis for his molested childhood, and he aspired to kill his opponents.

Holyfield finally tamed and shamed the bully, although the money he won kept him unrepentant.

I believe Tony Ayala and Aaron Pryor were molested too.

Tyson isn't even a top five heavy, let alone the greatest fighter ever

the greatest upset I've ever seen in all of sports. RJJ or Mayweather losing still wouldn't have stacked up against Mike Tyson losing.

Congratulations. You win the Convoluted "Logic" Award.

Gee whiz... Did the fact Tony Tucker easily went the distance with Mike and won rounds set the 'hood ablaze as well??? Mike looked slow and tired in that one.. To say nothing of the James Smith yawn -- where Mike looked frustrated and inept as Hell.. Those were precursors to the Douglas disaster.

The 35-1 Tyson-Douglas odds or whatever they were, were ridiculous. Douglas was a solid contender and Tyson was an exciting hard punching albeit overrated champion. The odds should have been closer to 5-1.

True, Tyson's fights with Tucker and Smith showed some limitations.

He was a poor infighter past a couple programmed combos. Mike was a midrange fighter and big guys that could handle a few of those found Mike more than willing to clinch inside. That's why bowe would have slaughtered him.

Stylewise, Tyson is made for Bowe. I probably would have favored Bowe as well, of course depending on when they would have fought. But Tyson did have great power, so Tyson landing flush on almost anyone could spell trouble. Ali, and a few others could have taken Mike's best, but not many. Question is would Tyson have been able to land flush on Bowe before Bowe got into a good rhythm?

Ali could not have taken Tyson's best shot... Left hooks from little guys like Sonny Banks, Henry Cooper, and Joe Frazier knocked Ali down and almost out... If Tyson landed like that Ali would be gone because Tyson hit much harder... Prime Heavyweights who could take Tyson's best include Oliver McCall, David Tua, Vitali Klitschko, Ike Ibeabuchi---and other Heavyweights who've never been floored, never been hurt, and never wobbled around the ring on shaky legs... Tua was floored once, but when he was around 40 and that's it.. There've been a few more really tough Heavyweights I could add.

Ali was still learning his craft when Banks and Cooper knocked him down. The former was a flash knockdown and the later was a good punch(er) but it has been exaggerated over the years; Ali wasn't that badly hurt. Frazier was a great puncher. Frazier's left was likely superior to Tyson's left. Tyson lacked Frazier's head movement and rhythm. In short, Frazier was a better fighter than Tyson IMO.

In order for Tyson to defeat large, skilled HWs he had to be perfectly trained and totally focused. I knew that he would be defeated the fight that he lost his edge. That fight was Douglas.
