Walters/Lomachenko
I have been looking forward to this fight since it was made. And more excited about this bout than I was Ward/Krusher.
Who you got and how?
I'm taking Walters. Of course Loma is hyped for good reason. But, I feel Walters' ability is getting overlooked. I believe he is going to be able to catch Loma on more occasions than most think and his power is going to be the deciding factor in this fight.
Walters by TKO mid to late rounds.

Re: Walters/Lomachenko
I think Lomachenko is too gifted and skilled for Walters. Walters could catch and hurt him enough to slow him down and stop him but Lomachenko by Ko is more likely.

Re: Walters/Lomachenko
I think Walters' size will pose some issues for Loma. His jab is going to cause more problems than people think. Intriguing fight. Can't wait!
Re: Walters/Lomachenko
I have been looking forward to this one too. Nothing I would rather see than Walters catching Loma early (a la Krusher v Ward) and seeing how the Ukrainian can deal with it.Impractical Poster wrote:I think Walters' size will pose some issues for Loma. Re: Walters/Lomachenko
I think it must be more easy for Lomachenko than many people thinking. I like Walters, but Vasyl is the special one fighter.
Re: Walters/Lomachenko
I think lomachenko is very good, but a bit overrated by some, especially max Kellerman. He has really not beaten anyone good. The only good fighter he has fought, he has lost to. Personally, I think walters would destroy salido.
Bottom line, tough fight for loma. I think he will pull it out, but I could see him getting caught and dropped before boxing his way to a close decision. I am going with loma 115-112.

Re: Walters/Lomachenko
Lomo on points. Should be a great fight.
Re: Walters/Lomachenko
Lomachenko points for me. Very good, competitive fight, can't wait!

It just mean that you don't know much about Lomachenko, If you think that Vasyl overrated.jockpunk wrote:I think lomachenko is very good, but a bit overrated by some, especially max Kellerman. And he didn't lose to Salido. He was dirty robbed by the referee and by judges.

You must have missed the article when Lomo said the decision was fair and he blamed himself.

I think Lomo vs Walters will be a great fight, and lean towards Lomo by decision. Walters is better than Salido, but Lomo has improved a lot since then too.

I don't care what Vasyl said about this. I saw that fight and I told you about my opinion.Badhusker wrote:MaxiBoxc wrote:It just mean that you don't know much about Lomachenko, If you think that Vasyl overrated.jockpunk wrote:I think lomachenko is very good, but a bit overrated by some, especially max Kellerman. It wasn't a great fight, it was great robbery in onesided fight. I can't understand how somebody can compare that robbery with future great fight against Walters.
Re: Walters/Lomachenko
Lomachenko nickname should not be "Hi tech" but "Iron balls". Salido was sooo b!tch in that fight, but valuable learning experience of pro boxing for Vasyl. Walters is only threat in this division for Loma, other current champs will get slaughtered IMO

Re: Walters/Lomachenko
While Salido/Loma was a bit unfair, it doesn't negate the fact that Loma showed that he was having a very difficult time with the pressure of Salido. And I don't think that would have changed much even if Salido came in on weight.
Either way, Walters is going to be the bigger guy in there Saturday night. And he is much better than Salido. He also enjoys a much longer reach than Lomachenko. I know the Loma believers have a hard time believing that anyone can give him a hard time, but Walters has all the abilities to give Loma hell.

Re: Walters/Lomachenko
It's a 50/50 fight to me. I'm picking Walters by KO, but nothing will surprise me.

Scrolling through Boxrec ...
Lomachenko is god.
Kovalev is god.
GGG is god.
They can't lose, event though two of them has lost.
Great fight. Lomachenko will have to be defensive, and move.

Re: Walters/Lomachenko
Kovalev didn't lose. 3 judges said he did while at least 60% of Boxing fans and pundits said he didn't. The majority don't see him as the loser of that fight.BAD INTENTIONS wrote:Scrolling through Boxrec ...

Lomachenko did though, and may well lose again this weekend. We'll see.

Ha, you are willing to accept Lomachenko's loss, which was one of the most absurd fights ever, gilgamesh wrote:Kovalev didn't lose. 3 judges said he did while at least 60% of Boxing fans and pundits said he didn't. yet, Kovalev losing a close fight to Ward is unbearable.
The hate of Ward is widespread throughout the boxing world.
This is a fight he could have lost, so you guys are making a bigger deal than you should.
Similar to idiots who say Maidana beat Floyd in the first fight.
It's hard to take your opinions on boxing scoring seriously.
Re: Walters/Lomachenko
I didn't say it was unbearable. I've never even called it a robbery. I've seen worse robberies than that certainly, but that doesn't mean Ward won. He didn't.BAD INTENTIONS wrote:Ha, you are willing to accept Lomachenko's loss, which was one of the most absurd fights ever, gilgamesh wrote:Kovalev didn't lose. 3 judges said he did while at least 60% of Boxing fans and pundits said he didn't. I don't care if you don't take my opinion on Boxing Scorecards seriously or not. I'm a serious Boxing fan who watches very intently and closely when fights are on, and my scores are always justifiable. You'd never be able to point to any of my scorecards that are ridiculously off the mark.
You're welcome to disagree with my scoring. After all that's part of the fun of forums. The debate, but my integrity and why I score the way I do cannot be called into question.
My like or dislike of a fighter does not affect my scoring in the slightest. I call it like I see it, and the way I saw it Saturday Night was a Kovalev victory.
Re: Walters/Lomachenko
Here my take on Lomachenko... He beat Salido by a mile on clean effective punches and had him out in the 12th.. He should have been awarded at least 5 more points for heading and low blow fouls, so that was a horrendous robbery. Walters is a great boxer-puncher. As I've said for years he's extremely skilled and one of the greatest Featherweights ever.. He completely dominated all 27 of his professional opponents to date, and some of them were very good.. If the judges get it correct this time Lomachenko will probably win, although it could be close... Loma is giving up a ton of height, reach, and power, but he's one of the most skilled boxers who ever laced up the gloves.. He'd probably beat Willie Pep.gilgamesh wrote:I didn't say it was unbearable. I've never even called it a robbery. I've seen worse robberies than that certainly, but that doesn't mean Ward won. Re: Walters/Lomachenko
It's nowhere near 50-50. Lomo is a -900 favorite.gilgamesh wrote:It's a 50/50 fight to me. I'm picking Walters by KO, but nothing will surprise me.
Re: Walters/Lomachenko
Walters is good but made his name beating the corpse of Donaire and Darchinyan. He was fought tooth and nail by Jason Sosa, who is NO Vasyl. Walters has the reach but these guys are essentially the same damn height. This isn't Salido weighing 160 lbs in there.
