Ward accomplished being knocked down and beaten up... He accomplished losing and being a part of the corruption that pervades Boxing.. He's an American and always gets the opportunities and fights he wants.. Hopkins didn't fight over 160 until he 41 and had no plans to.. but he got to fight everyone at 160.. Golovkin tried to move to 168 four times for an acclimation fight, but the fights were pulled out from under him.. He wanted 1 acclimation fight, and tried Oosthuizen, Rodriguez, Chavez, and Froch -- and they all talked big about fighting GGG, but turned tail and ran.. Ward got 3 acclimation fights at 175.. GGG has a lot of unfinished business at 160 with Saunders, Jacobs, Eubank, and Canelo... If Hopkins (who lost several fights at Middleweight) could go north at 41 Golokin has time to get these Middleweight cowards into a ring and still beat Jack, Kovalev, and Ward before he's through.Tanzio wrote:All talk. He hasn't proven sh!t compared to Ward or Krusher.boxing_rocks wrote:F*ck the "legacy". Golovkin is bigger than them skill wise. At the same weight, he demolishes both of them. I think he beats current Ward at 175.
In fact, Brook has shown immensely greater ballz than 3G. When is 3G going to take a real challenge? When is he going to do something on the level of what Brook did? When is he going to come within screaming distance of doing what Ward just accomplished?
Talk is cheap.
Lomachenko couldn't get Santa Cruz, Mares, Rigondeaux, or Selby into a ring at 126... They wouldn't even talk about it seriously... so he headed north to another Division... At Least Canelo, Saunders, Eubank, and Jacobs acted as if they might fight, and entered into talks with Golovkin, so there's hope. And if they fight he'll also beat Hopkins' record for successful defenses.
