Floyd Mayweather vs Conor Mcgregor (hypothetical) PPV projections

Post by lefty »

Regardless of whether you'd want to watch it or not or whether it would actually ever happen; if it did, what kind of PPV numbers do you think it would do?

Hard to get a read on it. I'd guess 3 million, maybe more.

I live at Balkan, and I have no possibility to watch PPV events, but I would never waste my time and money to see this kind of fight.
I suppose that it would be something between 1,2 m and 1,4 m.....

That would be my guess as well. Can you imagine the media buildup?!

So mcgregor weighed 154 in his last bout. So a light middleweight contest would be ideal. In which i suppose mcgregor would have only a very, very small punchers chance.

If these two announced this morning that they were fighting at 8pm tonight, the fight would do over a million buys. No one builds prefight hype like both of these guys so give them a 6-10 months to sell the fight and that number would triple easily. If given enough time to market this fight, it would surpass Manny/Floyd in my opinion.

The UFC won't allow McGregor to engage in a pure boxing bout. It's fun seeing the Irishman building his own infamy on the back of Floyd's high-profile name and vice versa, though.
