You're 100% right, but the problem is these sort of shenanigans generate more headlines and commercial value. And money talks. So they are passively encouraged. Look at the very end of 'The Gloves are Off', when Hearn appears in the room grinning ear to ear, despite apparently being aghast at their behaviour.

This fight is the defacto main event, seeing as the actual main event is a joke, so I imagine much of this has been orchestrated to make the PPV a commercial success.

Actually on second thoughts the fight might not go ahead. Not a case of the fight being called off more a case of Chisora having his license revoked....again. Last time Robert Smith said "Dereck Chisora is not a fit and proper person to hold a licence." "The British Boxing Board of Control deplore what occurred at the weigh-in, in the ring before the contest commenced and at the post-contest press conference. Such behaviour brought the sport of boxing, the BBBofC and all licence holders into disrepute."

I think most of this stuff is pre planned anyway to tap into the 18-30 demographic, it works because I hear the young lads at work getting all excited about whatever shinanigans are going on

Robert Smith - just the latest person to be outraged in 2016. What are we becoming. A bit of handbags at a press conference and we're talking about banning fights. Jeezus.

If the board do take action the it should be against Tibbs and Whyte for getting all Canning Town with the veiled threats.

Its a sport for fucks sake.

Whyte turns all his fights into a grudge match somehow. Trying to hard to sell and become a top PPV draw in the future.. he is going to be nothing but a European level, world title challenger.

This.
Yeah it is a bit contrary.

However....last time I checked, throwing tables wasn't allowed in the ring.

Yeah, this entre "grudge" has pretty much been Whyte being an asshole to Chisora and trying to provoke him

I anticipate the pre-fight shenanigans will be the highlight of the event. Chisora will throw 3 punches a year for as long as it lasts.

The vine of AJ violently KOing Whyte has been popping up in my Instagram recently and the image of him spangled and hanging off the ropes has been immensely satisfying.

I Pressed the little heart and "liked" it.

Think its more than handbags when tables ane bottles are getting thrown around, fighters threatening other fighter with "lets see what happens,u bring ur crew and ill bring my crew" wtf is all that about? Why bring a crew? Their fighting on saturday wont that sort who has the biggest balls??? After the fight i think the bbbc should ban the two of them,im sick of whyte thinkin he is the don mentioning crews and fighting outside the ring at every presser of gloves are off,if your a sportsmen bloody act like it if not get the fck out of the sport,no place for thugs in the squared circle

Ruthless-RKO wrote:Dereck Chisora's planned fight with Dillian Whyte may be cancelled following the mass brawl at their press conference on Wednesday.

The two heavyweights and their respective camps had to be separated after Chisora threw a table at Whyte during their press conference in Manchester.

They are set to fight at the Manchester Arena on Saturday, but an emergency meeting between the British Boxing Board of Control is understood to be taking place on Thursday, and it is believed that the fight being called off has not been ruled out at this stage.
Head of the BBBofC Robert Smith says he was 'disgusted' with the incident, and plans on taking action.

"I've watched it a couple of times and I'm disgusted by it. I don't know what will happen yet. I will have to speak with who I have to speak to, and then make a decision, but it is not a very helpful scenario to be in," said Smith.

"I will speak to Eddie Hearn again, we have a couple of days before the weigh in and we will see what we need to do. It is wrong, it should never have happened."
If chisora gets banned then maybe throw big davey price in as a replacement with whyte :TU: . But personally i think both should be suspended or have their license taken off them

Hearn has got to think about building his March card too now.

Perhaps we'll see Audley Harrison enter the ring on Saturday and throw a pasty at the winner. :oo
