When he was fighting he was labouring too. Seemed to get disillusioned with the amount of dough he didn't make from the game. The Ampofo fights were his only real earners I believe.

I'd have jailed him for that nonce haircut! he's like a cross of Eminem and Freddie Star!mickey1975 wrote:Not guilty.Stuarty30 wrote:Truemickey1975 wrote: Bob Shannon would've got life in that case. What happened with him anyway? Was he not in bother for allegedly touching a wee lassie up?

What everyone who does coke smacks up random passers by?Boxerbeetle wrote:Even tho some people walk round their town thinking they own it and smash bus stop windows smack an innocent passer by?thechump wrote:Oops sorry i didnt read your original post properly, yes your right they go hand in hand but i wouldnt want alcohol banned cause i like to av a drink now and againjamesmcdonnell wrote:
Eh? You're just reaffirming my point! I've been doing coke 20 odd years, and I can only think of less than a handful of occasions where I didn't drink before I did it. I have probably done coke 1000 times over the years. I'm on the wagon for January and I can assure you, without booze coke has zero appeal for the vast majority. If you look at what has happened in Portugal since decriminalisation of drug use, it's clear that making things illegal does nothing to control their use.
They must be getting really crap gear.

Theres a few of them from manchester area like that.thechump wrote:Ye ther is a lad from manchester always comes down to birkenhead to fight on a local unlicensed show takes the lads the distance but if he wanted to you could tell he could end it in one round, moves like the matrix but doesnt throw many punches,£200 for abit of breakdancing is a bargainlillywhite14 wrote:On one of the local promotions they use a northern lad who can really motor, I've seen him in the gym, and he just takes a fall fight after fight! I know an exceptional kid who fought under his brothers name because of his amateur license. I actually felt sorry for the local ticket seller he boxed.
One who boxes under the name Paul Smith, gets beat everytime yet you can see a mile off he would beat them at the drop of a hat.
Maybe shows how poor some of the ticket sellers really are though because when he boxed pro under his real name Paul Haines, he failed to pick up a single win in any of his 12 or 13 bouts, despite him telling me he was actually trying to win in those and just never seemed to get the decision.
Re: Johnny Armour jailed
Yes same as a lad i know,he boxes on this scene now under his pro name he would always give value for money to the spectator,he won 3 i think drawn 2 got beat about 35 times been in with quigg burns carl johanson craig docherty, for effort id give him 10/10 but for skill and listening to advice from his trainer id gave to give a 3/10,peter allen, loved to fight thats itPistol-P wrote:Theres a few of them from manchester area like that.thechump wrote:Ye ther is a lad from manchester always comes down to birkenhead to fight on a local unlicensed show takes the lads the distance but if he wanted to you could tell he could end it in one round, moves like the matrix but doesnt throw many punches,£200 for abit of breakdancing is a bargainlillywhite14 wrote:

more likely to be pissed than coked up mate. Far more problems in society caused by alcohol than all the rest of the drugs put together.thechump wrote:What an absolute idiotic statement,so legalise coke? I never said alcohol doesnt cause problems i said drugs do,as jamie said in a previous post its coke and alcohol combined that causes problems, people just lose their marbles on the two and think their co ck of the world but really their co ckhead of the worldJ wrote:more likely to be pissed than coked up mate. Slightly skewed though since I bet far more people drink alcohol than take any illegal drugs, not that I disagree though a pissheads more trouble than a pothead.
Re: Johnny Armour jailed
true Banjo but society decreed alcohol ok, rest not, reap what you sow.
There wouldn't have been any football violence if they had legalized puff and not booze.
OR in fact probably any football to watch. Lol.

Re: Johnny Armour jailed
I didn't read the arguments on drugs.
But on the unlicensed issue. Most, if not all, of the shows are now licensed, just not by BBBOC. So licensed by likes of BBU (British boxing union) etc....
And isn't it just like semi pro football scene. Not everyone can be a premier league footballer. But in football it's accepted there's a league for lads who aren't skilled ....?
