When Josh crushes Wlad, his previous opponents should be dismissed, just as Fury's weak opposition pre Wlad was dismissed when Tyson beat WladHorse wrote:Super Joshua only fights the best!lillywhite14 wrote:A win over Hammer won't bring Price a fight with Joshua. Unless Joshua loses to Wlad.
If Joshua beats Wlad he'll be looking at Pulev then I suspect it'll be Wilder/WBC champ for the unification.
Joshua's previous track record should be totally dismissed because he's scheduled to fight Wlad.

So Price might as well continue to fight the likes of Pejsar & Perkovic instead of fighting someone like Hammer then?Riddick Blowe wrote:You're the monkey, Horse. Hammer may or may not be top 10. It really doesn't matter. He sucks.

Tyson Fury's pre-Wlad record was a heck of a lot better than Joshua's is.Riddick Blowe wrote:When Josh crushes Wlad, his previous opponents should be dismissed, just as Fury's weak opposition pre Wlad was dismissed when Tyson beat Wlad

Re: Price v Hammer
I think Price is getting knocked out, not because Hammer is 'highly ranked' but just because he is a bit less bad than Price in my opinion. But Price has to fight someone, right? They chose someone who is 'ranked' and credible on a relational basis, not an absolute one, and someone without a punch. It's still not going to work out for Pricey.Horse wrote:So Price might as well continue to fight the likes of Pejsar & Perkovic instead of fighting someone like Hammer then?
May have been marginally better. Not to any meaningful degree.Horse wrote:Tyson Fury's pre-Wlad record was a heck of a lot better than Joshua's is.

It doesn't always require the top guys beating these clowns in order to make a judgment. I have eyes.
Not sure how many more times we can have the same argument, but it sure is fun.

Imagine the pain in the horse household if Joshua comes through Wlad and then Pulev. I worry for him if the unthinkable does happen

It's okay Horse, we're all here for you when it happens.

If he beat Wlad would anyone really expect Pulev to beat him?lillywhite14 wrote:Imagine the pain in the horse household if Joshua comes through Wlad and then Pulev. I worry for him if the unthinkable does happen

This. Maybe we should set up a fund? Horse how much would it cost?Riddick Blowe wrote:I would pay to see a documentary about 'the horse household'.lillywhite14 wrote:Imagine the pain in the horse household if Joshua comes through Wlad and then Pulev. I worry for him if the unthinkable does happen
Re: Price v Hammer
Potentially a good fight. Pricey needs to show us his boxing skills, "opening up" isn't enough at the top level.

Top ten of what. I'm taking not them bogus sansaction bodies or even boxrec rankings. Its not obsessing we know these guys aren't the top of the division. Malik Scott isn't top 20 but like you said he beat a guy Price couldn't but somehow with a win he'd be a top 20 guy.Riddick Blowe wrote:Malik Scott is in the top ten based on a win over a decrepit Tony Thompson.world ranked wrote:Horse wrote:Yes, it is.why would it be. I think this tells you everything you need to know about why some people need to stop obsessing about rankings in this division.

Stick Price in with Briggs, that'd be fun.

The sad thing is Hammer and Scott maybe are top 10 or at least top 20 if we have to sort these guys. If we did a top 10 on absolute level of ability half of it should be vacant.

It will be a decent win for price but fury dominated and stopped hammer years ago.
Price will still be threading water after the fight. Nobody is going to voluntarily give him a shot at the title, too high risk. And he's not good enough to work his way into a mandatory position without getting sparked

People say too high risk but I'm not sure that's true. He doesn't bring a big fan base, he doesn't bring a name and as it stands, he brings no real credibility, not at that level anyway.TheLeprechaun wrote:It will be a decent win for price but fury dominated and stopped hammer years ago.

There's plenty of heavyweights around who offer more in them regards and as I originally said, he's not actually that high a risk. His much vaunted power saw old man Thompson get off the he canvas and come back and stop him. Perhaps his power isn't anything much beyond domestic level?
