A few thoughts:

If he beats Fury his stock will remain pretty much as it is. Hughie is unknown outside of UK boxing hardcore circles. Plus the fight will in all likelihood be on BT/BN on a Saturday morning.

Joshua Parker isn't a Wembley fight. Wlad, Tyson Fury, Haye, Wilder. That's it.

June? I'd suggest the chances of Wembley hosting two fights in the space of nine weeks is essentially nil.

Agree with that. Only way his stock considerably changes in the UK is if he fights a couple of times here against British fighters, Hughie, Price, Whyte, even Chisora. Just beating Hughie wouldn't make a great deal of difference, especially if he does it in NZ.

I looked at the poll results and feel like I've slipped into some strange parallel universe. On what basis is anyone tipping Fury, who hasn't got a single win of note and who hasn't fought in nearly a year? Parker isn't in AJ or Wilder's league, but it's still a massive leap up for Hughie and I just can't make a case for him at all.

Because whilst Hughie is unproven, Parker is proven only to the extent of being proven to be pretty limited. It's not unreasonable to pick the bloke with the better boxing talent

I'm from New Zealand, a huge boxing fan, and I haven't ever watched JP fight.
Why?
Because here, every fight he has had is PPV!
And I don't think any of his opponents have been worth paying to view. I was close to coughing up the dough for the Carlos Fight being his first match up inside the top 20. Ruiz was a joke to be fair.
How JP ever made it up the rankings by fighting guys outside the top 50 is beyond comprehension. But that's boxing for you.
I think Fury could beat JP if only he had another one or two fights before hand.
But JP's promoter will make him keep the belt he was gifted at all costs, a lot like the other plastic champion Wilder.
So I have to back Parker to win.
Will I pay to see it?
No chance. Not worth it.

Proven to be limited at a far higher level than Fury, that's the critical difference. It's impossible to talk about Hughie having the better boxing talent given the lack of substantive evidence to go on.

I do think Fury has better fundamentals, but Parker's hands are quicker and he punches harder. Parker has also looked most vulnerable when being pressured and pushed back, but that's not Hughie's game.

Reason I'm asking is because Hughies dad and trainer has two prison terms one for drug related and money laundering. This stopped him getting into America a few years ago to train Tyson for his fight with Steve Cunningham.

Found the following regarding NZ visas. The bolded parts are where he falls down I think:

Applicants for all visas must be of good character, not pose a security risk and not threaten New Zealand’s international reputation.

People with serious character issues can’t be granted any visa or entry permission, except in very special circumstances.

People with other character issues must have the good character requirement waived before they can be granted a temporary visa.

Serious character issues

You can't be granted a visa if you:

have ever been convicted of an offence for which you were sentenced to a term of imprisonment of 5 years or more

have been convicted in the last 10 years of an offence for which you were sentenced to a term of imprisonment of 12 months or longer

are prohibited from entering New Zealand
have ever been removed, excluded or deported from any country.

You will also not be granted a visa if we have reason to believe you:
