Apologies for resurrecting an old thread, but I thought this one was rather humorous, bearing in mind the claims being made.
I can also list several other threads of a similar nature claiming that AJ was the greatest British heavyweight in history.
And surprisingly, many people agreed with some of these outrageous claims!
For the record, I don’t want to kick a fighter when he’s down, because I always thought that AJ was a good fighter, but perhaps underserving of all the media hype that had been lavished upon him prematurely. It was if he was given an honorary rite of passage to greatness without having earned it.
I hope he can make a comeback and eventually earns his place in the Hall-of-Fame. And I suspect that having tasted defeat could be a weight off his mind, as expectations will inevitably become more in line with reality.
Regardless, there are a hell of a lot of comical posts and threads proposing the notion that AJ is one of the greatest heavyweights in history.
