Sensible decision if true.

A new trainer can give Scott some new ideas but I think just being freed from the Gallagher bootcamp and the strict adherence to infight strategies will benefit him too. He can think things out more for himself rather than being spoon fed instructions by Joe. I appreciate that the fighter has to listen to his trainer especially during the fight but I got the impression that Scott just followed what Joe said unquestioningly.

And am I alone in thinking that Quigg may secretly have been p1ssed off with the Smiths. I'm sure they all fed off each other in the gym and it must be a bonus to have several very accomplished fighters working in your camp day in day out but if I was paying Joe whatever percentage he gets I'd want a bit more of his time and a bit more exclusivity.

The Frampton tactics were awful and were compounded by Gallaghers inability to sense and see what was plainly obvious and tell him to adjust and start working earlier, then further compounded by the after fight reaction of Tesco Joe actually thinking they had been winning those early rounds.

At some point someone needed to sit Quigg down and make him watch the fight again so he could see how bad the tactics were and also how bad the trainer was guiding him. One cannot improve if we do not recognise our mistakes and when your trainer cannot spot said mistakes, how can he guide you to improve on a performance?

I wouldn't give Gallagher such a hard time if he hadn't made exactly the same tactical mistake against Salinas just a few fights earlier.

boxing needs hatton just as much as hatton needs boxing. getting quigg would give him the direction to avoid pitfalls. think it would be a good move, quigg lives the sport, but he totally ballsed up the frampton fight. hes better than that.

When Quigg woke up and started working from the 6th on, he won more rounds than Frampton. He has the beating of Frampton for me. Gallagher was absolutely abysmal in that one. Some of the very worst tactics and cornerwork I've seen

Quigg has been on twitter after some pad work with Ricky Hatton, if quigg stays put around Manchester then it can only be hatton I don't think there's anyone else I think they would be a good match for each other and I'm hearing excellent thing of Hatton as a trainer it's just the other side of it I've heard a little unreliable and the boozing.

I've heard off a very good source that he's left Gallagher, that's all I've been told nothing else about where he's going

Fitness and power punching are already his biggest strengths, he needs to learn to use his jab more and to think for himself during fights. But I suppose that Booth would help in those departments too.
