Fury without Peter?
Is the comeback on?
Re: Fury without Peter?
Big news coming Tyson reckons. Gonna be Browne ain't it?
Re: Fury without Peter?
Is that the rumour?mickey1975 wrote:Is the comeback on?
Any names of potential trainers mentioned?
Boxers often need to do as they are told by their trainer, I cant imagine Tyson being told what to do by anybody other than Peter (although it could be that he doesn't want to do what he says either?).

Re: Fury without Peter?
A friend said a while ago he couldn't see Tyson and Peter working together again but I didn't give it much thought.
Re: Fury without Peter?
True, he also didn't look like a world beater until Peter took over his training.DazDiCanio wrote:Remember had bad Tyson looked the last time he fought without Peter?
Not that Peter is the best trainer ever, it is just that he appeared to be the only person who Tyson would listen to and do as he was told.
Any split would cause interesting dynamics in the Fury family.
Re: Fury without Peter?
Obviously difficult to make a judgement on this without knowing the ins and outs of their relationship, but this doesn't strike me as good news for Tyson if I'm honest.

Imagine if he's gone to Coldwell
Re: Fury without Peter?
Fury can box (no genius but ok) and he's a very big feller who can spark opponents, but personally I believe he has severe psychological problems and should not be allowed anywhere near a ring.
If there was a sport called arm bashing that had a governing body, would they allow someone with a broken to compete?
The brain (specially one as fragile as Fury's) should be protected as much as is humanly possible and personally, I find it incredible that any governing body would sanction Fury against anyone.
It is a matter of record he is prone to depression and has in the past talked suicide, so is it really wise to say "yeah that's a brain that's ok to punch over and over"
I know he's a massive feller but when I hear him talk, I know there's basically a 13 year old boy in there.

I think nearly all his issues have probably been brought on by certain family members.
Can't have been easy with some of the senior male figures in his immediate family.
I'd love to see him comeback, but only if he wants to.

Re: Fury without Peter?
From what I seen and it was only brief was that Tyson was the boss in the gym, but I spoke to him and he was sick of a lot of his family including Pete, I posted this before and got laughed at
Re: Fury without Peter?
Despite not having any personal experience in the gym with them, I always felt that Peter did a really good job, and I think Tyson will be worse without him. For me Tyson def showed improvement when Peter took over, and using the most obv example of the VK fight Fury was in great shape with a great plan.
I'm guessing his father will take over now......

Tyson should stay with Peter, better being told the truth than a coach kissing your ass, he respects Peter
Re: Fury without Peter?
Logic would say stick with Peter ,, but it would be hard with his Dad on the sidelines wanting the fame and glory .. Could imagine it would wear the big fella down , when all said and done ones his uncle , but the others his dad ,,, bit of a mayweather situation coming up

Re: Fury without Peter?
Just what we need, big John Fury all over TV & IFL
Re: Fury without Peter?
I don't get the impression that Fury is an arrogant , know it all type of person.
If someone like Ronnie Davies or Jimmy Tibbs were coaching him I'm sure there wouldn't be a problem. As long as he respected what they were doing.
The big problem is of course that Fury can't go anywhere, like America for instance, where you need a visa because his father and uncle wouldn't be allowed in. I don't know about Hughies fight with Parker. The venue hasn't been decided, but do you need to get a visa to visit New Zealand?
Peter seems to have done a good job so far and he obviously understands Furys moods. I'm not sure others would recognise the danger signals. And remember the teams tactics against Klitschko were first class.
