Excellent fight, had everybody on their feet . Correct decision , very close.
I've got to say Forsyth was the most natural boxer between the two but Pagan was extremely fit and just began to edge it near the end. I real thriller and both boxers got a standing ovation.

Forsyth now retired after fight, new job and just heart isn't in boxing. He seems to think he was robbed. Close fight from what iv heard.

Forsyth should have a re-think about retiring. He's a fluent boxer with good reflexes and knows his way around a boxing ring. I'm certain he could make middleweight with no difficulty, possibly even lower. There's money to be made by him as a boxer.
Of course Brophy would be too strong at the moment for Pagan, but I'd like to see him in another tough 10 rounder. He's not that far away.
A commonwealth or Scottish title fight between the two, at a sold out Ravenscraig in the winter, would be an attraction.

I think if Pagan boxes the correct fight he wins and by a wide margin
So one of them retires and the other will almost definitely lose when he steps up next. Great advert for the Scottish title, pal.

A bit harsh mate, Rhys boxed very well and was coming off of a 17 month lay off and remember he is only 23 years old and has faced very tough opposition since turning over. Rhys looked in control for large parts of the fight and he looks to have got his man's strength, Brain had spells where he did ok but he looked very fleshy and imo maybe took Rhys a bit lightly but only he can answer that properly. Imo Rhys can use this win to get some momentum and if he keeps learning and stepping up each fight then there is no reason that he cat compete at British and Commonwealth levels.

The show on a whole was decent and the bouts were entertaining, Stephen Tiffany and Tommy Philbin look like they are both ready for Scottish title level and maybe above. Lewis Benson boxed well against Marek and isn't far off title fights either.

The 2 debutants did well but Iain Trotters opponent was very poor imo. Never seen the Cruiserweight bout so can't comment on that one.

If Brian has decided to retire then I wish him well in what he does next and I can see his reasoning for doing so, he is 30 years old and probably thinks that if he can't win Scottish Honours then he won't ever make it at British level. I just hope he isn't being too hasty with his decision.

Yes trotters opponent was supposedly poor not his fault, if I were the other lads manager you'd do the correct thing and retire him, we must have the boxers best interest at heart

No mate defo not his fault and I'm sure the other lads manager will be having words with him even if its about dropping down in weight where he might be somewhat effective!

On another note how are things going over in Oz? Brophy ready for weekend?

I personally thought that Brian was going to win before the fight but after watching the fight I was very very disappointed in Brian, he hasn't improved since he was amateur and imo he actually looked worse! He was carrying a spare tyre that he could have sold to Kwik-Fit and he didn't know how to defend against a jab. Rhys was a well deserved winner and even with my Forsyth tinted glasses on I had it by 3 rounds to Rhys. If you think Brian was being fluent and had great reflexes then I really have to rethink my thoughts on boxing because he looked slow, unfit and he was unable to capitalise on Rhys Pagan being out of the ring for 18 months.

The rest of the show was ok Tiffany, Benson and Philbin looked class acts and what I seen of Iain Trtter he looks to be a decent addition to the middleweight/super middle scene in Scotland. I wasn't impressed with the Cruiser lad Ratu Latianara or the debut of Monty Ogilvie who won't go on to achieve any major honours.

On ticket sales the bleachers was rocking but the VIP/Ringside was fairly empty and I wonder if they would be better served with more of the lower priced seats and making the VIP/Ringside section smaller? Just a suggestion going forward lol
